In this article I am going to teach you how to use Video Marketing the right way, to help your business, not harm it.

Video marketing if used in the right way can help and improve your business. If it’s used in the wrong way it can end up harming your business and your reputation.

Video marketing the right way in 3 easy to follow simple steps.

Step one: Get a professional makeover.
I don’t mean you need to get yourself down to the local beauty parlour. What I mean is a social media makeover.

You need to give a very professional impression to anyone who checks you out. There is nothing worse than coming across a professional profile on LinkedIn. Then a very unprofessional profile on Facebook or Twitter. You need a consistent profile across all of your social media channels. So wherever people come across you, they will come to the same conclusion. That you’re a serious professional who can be trusted with providing the solution to your target markets problems.

Don’t make the mistake that most people do. Don’t just concentrate on your YouTube channel. You will be using all of your social media channels to promote and share your videos. Make sure you are sending a consistent message.

Step two: Don’t just dive straight in. Plan a video marketing strategy. Before you even start recording you need to decide what you want to get out of video marketing. It might sound simple. But are you looking for new subscribers to your list. Are you looking to build your YouTube subscribers? Do you want to improve your brand awareness? Are you launching a new product or service that you want to make people aware of?

Dependent on what your chosen strategy is will determine how you approach your video marketing strategy.

Step Three: Now you need to decide on the content of your videos. I would suggest answering a specific question in each video gives the most value. To be able to do this, you need to know what questions and problems your market place is facing.

Then you need to answer those questions or provide solutions. If you video is about “Increasing profitability.” Don’t record a video about the environment. Extreme examples, but you get my point. You need to deliver what the title of our video promises. You need to provide the value that is expected if not more than expected. You need to do it consistently.

If you record 5 videos one week and then don’t record a video for another couple of months. It will do your business more harm than good. People will not know what to expect from you and go as far as potentially losing trust in you.

Decide on the MINIMUM number and frequency you can commit to and consistently deliver on this personal commitment. You can always increase from your minimum but do not decrease or fluctuate.
