Summer Olympics Sports Can Inspire Your Internet Business
I’ve been writing about the Summer Olympics sports in various blog posts and forum groups because as marketers I think we can draw great inspiration from the Olympians for our Internet business activities.
The motto of the Olympics is Citius, Altius, Fortius – That is Latin for Faster, Higher, Stronger.
I give more history about the Olympics and this motto in my home business blog post, Olympic Games of Successful Internet Marketing. Here, in my Warrior Forum blog, I’ll skip to some of the ways we can compare Summer Olympics sports events to our online marketing businesses.
Archery: To be successful at this sport, you need pinpoint precision. Your goal is to hit the centre of the target; the bull’s-eye.
To be successful with your Internet business, you must also aim for specific, well-defined targets; for example, your ultimate customer. Smart marketers identify exactly who their targeted prospect is before they start marketing. It is better to be conservative with your marketing arrows and hit the target than it is to scatter your arrows all over the place, hoping to hit something.
Fencing: This intense sport involves a compelling battle of wits and technique.
Internet Marketers are also involved in a tense challenge to outwit the competition by learning and applying proven techniques. The greater finesse you have, the more successful you will be.
Triathlon: This sport is physically and mentally demanding beyond belief! Three sports in one, back to back with no breaks in between! Swimming, Cycling and Running.
In a similar way, home business and online marketing enthusiasts must also learn various techniques and principles and apply them in tandem to produce the desired end result. If you perform below standard in one area, it could have a detrimental effect on your overall results.
Pole Vault: Like many Summer Olympics sports, the precise coordination of several elements is required to be successful at this. Speed, timing and positioning must be coordinated to launch the athlete up and over the bar.
I can’t help but think of the search engines when I compare pole vaulting to Internet Marketing. As Internet business people, we are trying to coordinate our Search Engine Optimization skills to launch our websites and web pages to the top of the search engine results pages.
Those are just a few of the comparisons we can make between Olympic events and Internet Marketing activities.
When you really think about it, there are many Summer Olympics sports that you can use to help inspire your efforts in your Internet business. Make it your goal to go faster, higher, stronger. Let your personal motto become Citius, Altius, Fortius!
