So, I’ve been invited by my friend the other day to go to the Saatchi gallery for an event they were holding to promote their venue to the public.

For those who are not familiar with the Saatchi’s they are two brothers who began their claim to fame by starting up an advertising agency in the 70’s called Saatchi & Saatchi and some might say that they were the impact which sold Margaret Thatcher’s Conservative Party to the British people in 1979.

The two brothers Maurice and Charles Saatchi have gone on to make loads of dosh throughout their career in the ad industry and Charles penchant for art propelled him to open up a gallery in the mid 80’s in order to show his sizeable collection to the public.

Charles became notorious for promoting and sponsoring young artists who are unknown not only to the general public but also to the commercial art world. He has provided a springboard to launch careers to a lot of young talent including Damian Hurst and Tracey Emin and thus created media controversy, which has courted and caused extremes of critical reaction.

So, where does a blog fit in all of this?

Well, I guess if you can blog about things in the same way Charles does through his art and at the same time excite, titillate, please, entertain, and sometimes shock your audience then you are closer to becoming an artist in your own right - a blogging artist that is.

After all, we have art in order not to die of life.

Thoughts anyone?
