Trying to determine the best Wordpress themes can only be accomplished by first understanding your businesses' development needs. There are very few theme providers which we can credibly hammer for bad design as we have with the ever ineffective SEO plugin providers. WordPress theme developers for the most part do an awesome job! One of the very few challenges we find are usually limited to failure to develop effective script updates.
When scripts and CSS code aren't updated, it can produce major problems with themes up to and including loss of layout and functionality for visitors and webmasters alike. Some developers put forth that providers who have tons of them updates should be avoided. We strongly disagree. Using the example of Microsoft will prove this assessment nothing more than folly. This behemoth has dominated the operating system market for the better part of 30 years and needs no introduction.
Their operating system and office suites seem to be in need of constant updates of one sort or another. This is to be commended because it says Microsoft is monitoring and constantly improving protection of their offerings. Theme developers for WordPress offer updates largely for the same reasons. Should they be ridiculed for maintaining, managing and improving their templates? So much for that foolishness.
Our company offers web development services on a limited basis. Since we produce video tutorial curriculum and blindly believe that entrepreneurs, new and small business owners should be self-sufficient on the web, to forge a business unit which constantly builds websites would work directly against our stated goals.
When we do choose to develop a website (rarely), it is strictly a direct sales and lead generation build. We refuse to do fancy, decorative and flash websites because most often, message gets lost in the over-design. it is our belief that to develop an overly decorative site would be setting our clients up for failure.
These requests come in more often than we like to admit but 90% of these requests are directed to other web developers who don't mind charging tons of money to design a site which will NEVER reach TOP search rankings. With that said, there are very few Wordpress themes that don't hold the functionality to be highly decorative. Whether someone is looking for slider capability, gallery functionality, multimedia flexibility or other, the best WordPress themes can meet and often exceed new webmaster expectations. As you may have noticed, all of our web properties are clean, straightforward and simple.
This is intentional because we don't want prospective clients to become confused with exactly what is being offered. Does our propensity for the simple speak to our lack of development ability? Absolutely not! With the flexibility of our partner theme provider, we are able to tailor any of our web properties to match keyword need. What does all of this mean? You must first decide what you are trying to communicate before selecting a theme style and provider.
An artist who desires to display their work would do well to avoid direct sales style themes. In Affiliate marketer would also do well to avoid gallery style themes more appropriate for artists. The beauty of Wordpress themes is that although both have individual needs, the same basic theme can be used for both and tailored to individual needs!
