Once you’ve written your sales page and decided you want to launch your product, you’ll need affiliates. If you’ve heard of any type of marketing before, you’ve probably come across this term. It is hugely beneficial for both parties, and is therefore very popular within Internet Marketing.

If you are an affiliate to somebody, you sell their product and receive a set % (called a ‘commission’) of the sale. This also works both ways, i.e. they can promote your product).

Some people like the fact that you don’t have to deal with customers’ problems and questions. Instead, when somebody clicks the ‘buy’ button on your page they are taken straight to the order page of the original seller. Although, selling other peoples’ products means that you don’t have the freedom of adding new products to the product line, or creating new material for the product, etc. Most people start off with being an affiliate, and most are very successful at it and earn a great deal of money, but creating your own product is usually a lot more profitable, as well as being a lot more fun.

Also, you can take advantage of affiliate marketing when selling your own product, as you can get them to sell your product while you give them commission of the sale. This is good because some affiliates can reach customer areas where you wouldn’t have thought of, and even if you get a just a few more customers to buy it, it’s more than you would have had before.

Although, to get affiliates interested you must give them a good deal and make it as easy as possible. A nice figure for commission is around 75%, as it appeals to them as they get the majority of the profit, whereas you get 25% (of what you wouldn’t usually have, and it all mounts up).

Affiliates don’t like to spend days of work just to sell a product that isn’t theirs. You should make things as easy as you can for them, otherwise they’ll go somewhere else. You can do this by creating an affiliate section of your website with banners, written content, template sales pages, graphics, email templates, selling guides, etc. This drives much more affiliate traffic than making them start from a clean slate, and will also build up rapport between the affiliates and you, meaning they will be more likely to support your future product launches.
