In today’s social media (Facebook, Twitter, Blogging, Forums, etc) there is a very important rule that I suggest you follow that will prove to be successful in your business.
When creating a blog post, a forum post, a Facebook update, or even a small Tweet; it is very important that you follow these guidelines:

1) Only say and post reputable sayings and truthful statements. I have heard it said, “Do not say anything that you would not want your mother reading.” The internet is a transparent organism. People can see through most of it and everything that you type can be seen. Work with character and think before you type.

2) Treat your internet as your personal storefront. (Because it is!) Treat the customers and the daily conversations that you have as if you are speaking to someone standing right in front of you. The internet is YOUR business and what you do needs to be run as a business should be run.

3) Stand up for what you say. If you have something to say but are not willing to stand behind it; you might as well quit because you will NEVER be successful in this industry. When posting to Twitter, Facebook, forums, blogs, etc make sure that you put your name at the end to make sure and brand your statements to you. Leave an email address also so you can be contacted. You will be surprised at how much networking in this way will help not only your business but also your character.

By utilizing these 3 very simple steps in your daily dealings you business will start to grow and relationships will be started or strengthened.
