Do you already use Twitter? Take into account the benefits that Twitter offers anyone interested in Networking with others for your business.

Let’s start with the basics.

What is Twitter? Twitter is a free social networking service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. (Hence the name, “Twitter.”) The tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters and these posts are seen by all who “follow” the author. Since its creation in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Twitter has gained notability and popularity worldwide.

“What we have to do is deliver to people the best and freshest most relevant information possible. We think of Twitter as it’s not a social network, but it’s an information network. It tells people what they care about as it is happening in the world.” -Evan Williams

Twitter is very simple to setup and takes less than an hour to get everything up and running and your tweets noticed.

How can Twitter work for you?

-Plan on Tweeting at least 3 or 4 times a day. The professionals and more intermediate and above users automate their Tweets so they do not have to find time to log in and tweet at different times of the day. I personally use “Tweet Adder” for this service and recommend it highly.

-If someone follows you, follow them back. (That is what it is all about-creating a network.)

-Foster the dialogue. If someone replies to a tweet of yours, respond back to them.

-Never type in ALL CAPS. This is not professional and is a turn off to others.

-Do not give away too much information as Twitter is not a platform for this.

-Have Fun With It
