Staying productive is a task that needs to be mapped out with specific goals and a path for a business to succeed. In my personal business I stay productive by setting a few things in place that keep me focused and on task.
The first thing that I do is keep a journal. Each night the last thing that I do before going to sleep is write down 3-5 “action” and “money making” tasks that I must accomplish the next day. Is this all that I do daily? No. But I make absolutely sure I focus on these things first. Do issues arise that hinder me sometimes? Sure they do.. If this happens I move the tasks that didn’t get completed to the top of the list for the following day. I mark these off and keep them in a notebook that I can always look back on.
The second thing that I do to stay productive is cut out all distractions to the best of my ability. Sometimes with three little girls it doesn’t work as well as I anticipate but that’s life. I turn the volume down on my phone, make sure I am logged out of social media, and eliminate as much distraction as possible.
The third thing that I do to stay productive is concentrate on one task at a time. If anyone ever tells you that multitasking is the way to do things, they are lying to you. I try to set my schedule in a way that I do not have to multitask. Focusing on one task at a time allows you to fully concentrate on that one task and put all of your energy towards that task not to mention you can complete it quicker without multitasking.
A fourth thing I do that is after the fact is to check my results. I keep track of what is working and what is not working. This is not so much a way to stay productive in itself but this is a way that I can make sure that what I am doing is actually productive work and plan accordingly from this.
