Well, the past 2 weeks have been spent in a massive overhaul after the recent fire - or nuking of my hosting account.

Before the event I had actually spent several weeks building a few new sites - all of which had to be deleted and started again from scratch.

Over 35 websites in all went down in the blaze - one of which documented over 3 years of my online lawsuit adventure.

Amongst the massive written documentation going on (printed up for safe keeping) there is the ongoing persistence to be very aware of potential security issues, awareness of massive tracking tools being put into place from the start, and the additional pressure to speed things along as I feel like I have a lot of ground to cover all over again.

I have reduced my actual domain list down to 20 - but of those some more will be dropped and just a handful belong to family or clients.

I will still have 12 personal sites to maintain as things widdle down and I now realize how much responsibility I have been slacking on.

I finally got the bulk of my helpdesk back up - and decided to go with Zendesk for a couple of reasons. One is that if I ever have a melt down again I will have a way to keep a help desk going still on another server. The second reason was their swanky wordpress plugin that allows me to connect to the site but keep my knowledgebase in tact elsewhere - which I realized immediately last night when I found Zendesk undergoing some maintenance.

I had an absolute blast a couple of weeks back at the WF event, and I'm anxious to have a good bulk of things back in order before the next one in October. I spent the time being more social than anything else as I had no sites or promotions ready at the time - that server thing again.

Between my own scurry to regroup, I have about a 5 client back up right now and really wish I had more of a trusted support team lined up to help me with things. I know that I shouldn't be doing everything myself - but without the right team/fit I will just have to live with things moving along slower.

The list of things to do is overwhelming and yet the order in which they need to be done is very clear - so I am thankful for that.

Anyway I'm off to go install some more things now. The goal is November for having the roots planted again.
