How I Increased My Alexa Ranking In 30 Days

One month ago decided to participate in the PIPS Power Group Challenge. For those of you that are members of Plug-In Profit you know doubt are aware of PIPS Power Group. For those of you who are not familiar with them it is a special group of mentors who help fellow members of Plug-In Profit succeed with their Internet home business.
As I mentioned in a previous post each summer they hold a contest to help members increase their website traffic. The goal is quite simple, increase your Alexa rankings and increase the number of backlinks to your site.
There is no secrete formula to either one of these goals. With every back link increases your chances of more traffic.
So for the past month I’ve focused on the basics. Posting in forums, commenting on blogs, submitting my site to directories and submitting articles.
I decided early one in the competition that I needed a daily goal of ten backlinks a day. Do to time constraints I cannot do all the things necessary everyday. Instead I’ve focused on doing just a few of the easier methods every day, link submission (a minimum of 5 sites a day), forum comments ( a minimum of 2 per day), and commenting on blogs ( a minimum of 2 per day). Writing and submitting articles is time consuming so I’ve tried to submit a minimum of one per week.
These are modest goals and most days I was able to achieve them and on other days I was able to exceed them .
Yesterday was marked the one month point of the challenge and I thought I would take a look at how my site was doing to date.
July 1st Alexa Ranking- 1,414,339
August 1st Alexa Ranking- 780,191
July 1st Backlinks per site explore 1050
August 1st 1591
By following a simple plan I’ve increased my numbers substantially and it really has not been that hard. The mentors at PIPS Power Group have kept us focused and on track.
With about two weeks left in the challenge I’m going to try to get my Alexa ranking below 700,000 my backlink total to 1700.
Regardless of how my overall numbers end up or how I fair on the challenge I plan on continuing what I started and hopefully by this time next year this site will be even more profitable.
