How to Have Others Practically Create Your Software Feature List for You!
There can be many intimidating things about creating a plugin for someone who’s never done it before. Many times one of the big ones is putting together the list of details and features that you will give to your developer to create your plugin with.
Well if that is one of the things that may be holding you back from getting your first plugin or software created than I’m here to help.
Never Reinvent the Wheel!
It really can be much easier than you probably think. In my opinion it’s never good to reinvent the wheel and if you look around a bit you shouldn’t have to reinvent anything because the chances of the plugin you are trying to create being 100% unique are slim to none.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I often like to get plugin ideas and inspiration from other plugins created by other people. And I would imagine you will be getting ideas from others as well.
At my blog The John Zapata Blog and in my (currently free) guide “Make Software Simple” I show you where you can get great plugin and software ideas which are usually the same places you can get most of what you need for your feature lists as well. And then all that’s left for you to do is tweak it a bit for your own plugin.
Just pay attention!
So simply put all you have to do is keep your eyes open to anything you see having to do with software and the list of features you can use. For example, if you go to CodeCanyon.com or Wordpress.org and look at practically any plugin you will almost always see a detailed feature list. If you’re looking at plugins similar to yours in any way, you can grab well written features straight from there. Seriously!
Many times people that have plugins in those type of places are the actual developer themselves, thus very techie so they often proudly list all the features for everyone to see. Because that’s their latest creation so who can blame them!
So look for related stuff, grab the feature list and go! Keep your eyes on everything you can, like promo emails from people promoting plugins in lists you’re on, sales pages, everywhere there is a plugin and just grab what you need and go.
It really is that simple!
Usually as soon as you have solidified your plugin or software idea, you’ll have most of your feature list as well!
So there you go. For more tips to get you on your way to creating plugins feel free to visit my blog where I talk plenty of Wordpress, plugins and other stuff that comes to mind related to making money online!
