As an affiliate there are certain limitations in your marketing imposed by the merchant.

If the merchant's website doesn't convert it may not matter what you have on your affiliate site.

If the creatives offered by the merchant are just thrown together and are not effective then it is best not to use them.

Something I have done for many years is to develop my own creatives for a merchant's product.

This has even included creating a better slogan (which I claimed a trademark to) for the merchant's products.

Quite often I also create my own advertising graphics.

You can see one at the top of this page about shift boots. It is a combination of the merchant's graphic made available for affiliates (which is quite bad) and an eye-popping picture of the actual product (which is what buyers want to see).

In other words, your role as an affiliate is to be creative. The merchant needs you as their sales force, often because their own marketing is not up to snuff.

So don't be limited to inadequate marketing material provided by the merchant. Distinguish yourself from the merchant and other affiliates by creating your own marketing graphics and materials.
