We was set the challenge of ranking a new site over in Germany, not a problem but I cant speak any German. The site would be a clone of the companies UK site, this owns on all its major keywords in google.co.uk.
After getting over the initial restriction placed on all .de domains ( if you dont live in Germany you cant have one) we eventually located a host who could speak English and would be happy to help set up the DNS for the domain. It seems Germany as some very complicated requirements for nameservers not like the rest of the world.
We found a freelancer who was " German" and then had some of the sites text translated. I decided to get some quotes off some German SEO firms , WOW 10,000 euros for 6 months work with an average of 20 links per month ( THERE SOME EXPENSIVE LINKS) then luck turned and we were able to get a German national who is in UK studying English.
Month ones ranking reports showed we had already broke into the top 20 on 2 of the five target keywords with the other three all being inside the top thirty, diesel-injektoren being at the almost holy grail level of difficulty according to most German seo companies.
Anyway we just arrived in work this morning and the server is down, our reseller is based in Brazil there site is down also (( major oh **** we lost the whole site moment. After a quick panic I decided to run a network trace against the resellers domain and hop
14 127 127 127 9******.34 gw01.giga-hosting.biz I just got off the phone with the main hosting company and they are aware of the issue and a resolution is being sought as we speak.
At first glance I wanted to switch from copahost but now i see that the issue has been reported by them and is indeed there main agent. I think the main lesson to take from this is to set automated local back ups, when working with hosts outside your own country. Fingers crossed the sites will be back up later on today.

- Quick update the serps dipped heavily across the board when the site when off line on all keywords. Issue resolved all of the keywords jumped right back up. Found a new German content writing team, price is good for the quality of content.
Just testing out if this old directory still ranks VW Camper interiors.
May the force be with you allPosted 19th February 2012 at 05:22 PM by lazysloth - Was looking about for Germany content providers, Content.de was recommended by a couple of German nationals, very very fast turn around times and content is excellent and well researched.
