As time goes on social media is playing a more and more critical role in the successful marketing of various websites. Whether it is a restaurant, a bookstore or a website that supplies financial news reaching out to people is very important. There are a variety of niche-specific ways in which these sites need to promote themselves in order to see those sales they need. Everyone will have to strive for a more effective campaign in their own particular market; one has not encountered a “one size fits all” situation by any means. Examining the precedents and relative effectiveness of certain strategies where your niche is concerned can help a great deal.

This part of a campaign is not a place to experiment or go in blind without at least some degree of knowledge about what is acceptable. Facebook for instance is not a place to constantly bombard a consumer with advertisements. Such behavior will only prompt users to swiftly “unlike” a site or service to remove them from their feed. Keeping this in mind will aid a great deal in bringing people into the fold without making them feel forced or imposed upon. This can often be the result when a social media account is used to make too many updates in a short period. Such results are discussed in blog posts by Scott Bartel over at

The first rule of creating and adding posts to the feeds of those who are using a website is to offer something valuable. Tips or other useful information that is related to the niche in question will create more incentive for someone to link to the material. If something appears to be very important people will want to link to it in order to share it with their friends over their social media feed.

Aside from tips or useful information offering financial incentive for liking a post or profile on a social media website can be quite lucrative. Many campaigns can provide some serious savings and incentives for customers to purchase various items or services. They typically include a discount for liking or sharing the same promotion that they are benefiting from. This creates a domino effect that can actually become viral if there is enough incentive given to the right community. Figuring out what that promotion might look like can be made a lot easier by examining the efforts of similar companies that have been done in the past.
