Posted 7th November 2011 at 10:06 PM by Mary Wilhite
Mobile marketing is growing tremendously. Research companies are predicting that the different aspects of mobile marketing will grow into billion dollar industries in the coming years.
That's excellent news! However, a lot of internet marketers are not yet in the know when it comes to mobile marketing.
I know this for a fact because I'm very active in the industry and I frequently talk on a lot of events.
So, I decided to let you all in on what mobile marketing is all about by writing a series on the different aspects of mobile marketing and how to make money with it. To be more specific, how to make at least $500 per day doing the different aspects of mobile marketing.
So, here's the first one.
Offer Mobile Text Message Marketing
The concept of mobile text message marketing is to offer small business owners to build their customers list (of cell phone numbers) and market to the people in their list (sending offers, news, discounts, and freebies) to increase foot traffic in their store.
That means your task as a mobile marketer is to look for business owners who are interested to increase their sales by using a new marketing model, that is mobile marketing, text message marketing in particular. And then fulfilling the tasks required for a successful mobile marketing campaign via text messages.
To start, you'll need to gather leads and contact them to introduce yourself and your offer, set-up an appointment to formally present your offer and finally, close the deal. After that, your mobile marketing work will begin.
If you can do the lead generation and selling, then you are ready to go into mobile text message marketing.
Now, here are the components and tools that you will need to make your offer.
1. Source of leads
2. A text message provider
3. Message Templates
4. Your Offer
5. Your price
6. A strategy to promote and increase foot traffic to businesses using text message marketing
For no. 1 Source of leads - there are so many ways to generate leads. There are easy ways, hard ways and ones where you need to actually communicate with people.
When I started mobile marketing, I did the Guerilla Style! I sent out over 7,000 flyers. Yes, that's 7K..but the effort wasn't wasted. In the same month I did that, I closed nearly 200 clients and made $30,000 just in that first month.
I don't do that anymore since I learned easier ways to generate leads (Here's a link where I listed the fastest ways to get hot leads without leaving your home or sending flyers www.easymobilepaycheck.com/mobile-cash-machine).
For No. 2 and No. 3 Text message provider and Message Templates - There are several companies selling text message credits. One of them is twilio - They charge 1 cent for every text message sent and I think 2 cents for received messages.
There's also textmarks.com - I used textmarks before and what I like about it is that they have a fixed rate per number of subscribers.
Yes, you'll maintain the list of phone numbers on their site and send unlimited messages to the phone numbers for a fixed monthly payment. However, the charges increase along with the total number of subscribers in the list. Still it's affordable when you are starting.
Textmarks also provide message templates. These are messages offering coupons, discounts, special offers. You will need these message templates to present your service to business owners. Show them the messages so they'll understand how you will market their services or products via text messages.
For No. 4 - Your Offer - Prepare your offer or package and make sure that the details of the service is in a written contract.
The service will involve promoting a number where people can send messages to sign-up and then receive offers from your clients in the future.
Excellent examples include Pizza offers to students in the nearest college or university.
You can totally dominate Pizza sale for a particular area by signing people up and sending them special offers like 10% discount or 2 plus 1 offer when they purchase.
For No. 5 - Your Price - Your professional fee should be at least $500 per month and even more. To make $500 per day, sign-up a new client at least once a day for the next 30 days and you'll be making $500 per day the following months.
Your professional fee should be on top of the fees for text message services and other promotional/additional expenses like cost of flyers/radio ads/news paper ads to promote their text campaign. Always make sure that you set a price on top of the operating expenses, otherwise won't make any profit.
For No. 6 - A strategy to promote and increase foot traffic to businesses using text message marketing
For this, you will need to collaborate with the business owner and plan with them the most enticing offer they can give to clients.
Then use that offer in your text message campaign. In our previous example I talked about discounts and 2 plus 1 packages. Another example is to send new stock announcements or give away novelty items when customers visit the store.
So, there you go. This is the first part in my series. I hope you got something out of it.
If you are still new with all of these I recommend that you grab a copy of my new book "The Mobile Marketing Bible" at Amazon.
It will teach you everything you need to know about mobile marketing to be effective.

- I just love new ideas and new technology that comes along with it. I once read the most valuable piece real estate is that two inch by four inch screen on your cell phone. Learn what those people want, help them get it and you can't go wrong.
Way to go Mary.
Looking forward to the next post.Posted 3rd June 2012 at 01:47 AM by james4078 -
