Internet marketing

The topic that many we masters, developers and site marketers need assistance on is Internet marketing. The most asked question I get asked is, "where do you start". From my experience, start with what you can change/update. There are a lot of free tools out on the net that will analyze your site for free and give you a pretty god start at tackling your on site SEO.
Once you have your on site SEO taken care of market your site to the search engines. However, remember before you do this, you need to make sure you have at least one site map.
Next, move on to link building. Start with the free sites first before paying for anything. This goes for forums, blogs and any type of social media.
Lastly, to throw some icing on the cake, get some paid advertisements going for your site. If you are a small site with a small marketing budget, make sure that you purchase advertising that is for a flat rate. The last thing you need on your hands is a bill for x when you wanted to spend y.

I know first hand just how important content is. Just recently I purchased a website that needed some help with the on page SEO since the previous owner never really took it serious. There were misspelled words, improper grammar, missing punctuation and so on. However, the biggest problem with the site was not all the bad syntax but the ability to engage the reader and stay on topic. I am currently rewriting the content. And yes, I am holding off of the marketing until it is done.
Once again, thank you for bringing up this important topic.Posted 9th May 2013 at 09:20 AM by Michael381 -
