I noticed I haven't posted in a while and that's because I'm having such a blast building my new company, The ICA Network. We're into all fields of mobile marketing.. mobile apps, taking desktop websites and mobile optimizing them for smart phones and mobile devices (mobile conversion), and more.
Don't worry, this isn't a sales pitch.. keep reading, you'll learn something...
You know, a lot of small businesses just aren't sure about their mobile presence.. is it something they need to do, is it expensive, how much of a hassle is this going to be? Lots of questions and sometimes so hard to get straight answers.
I like to break it down, simplify these questions, make it easy for people to understand.
For example, do you know there are only three types of apps for mobile devices? Even with over 1,000,000 apps available (and this was at the end of 2011, I haven't had the time to see where that number is at now), there are really only three types.
It doesn't matter how simple or complicated, how detailed or basic, how interactive, how much information, how much programming... So are you curious? Wondering when I'm going to get to it? Okay, okay!
1. Games apps. These are self-explanatory.
2. Tools apps. These are the apps to check stocks, book flights, find weather conditions, read files, give directions, and more. They have one specific purpose or usage.
3. Marketing apps. These are what I specialize in. Both offline and online businesses need a mobile presence now. These apps share a business location, map, contact info, phone number, and relevant information for their customers and prospects. It doesn't need to be fancy or extensive, but it does need to load fast, have crisp clean graphics, and share what the customer is looking for.
