Starting a blog sounds so simple, and once you’ve mastered the basics is really is no more difficult than any piece of word processing software.

However, it didn’t seem so easy when I first started. I just wanted to write a post and present it to the world.

Couldn’t decide on the theme I should use or which would look more professional.

Would a particular theme work better than others or gain more attention from visitors to my blog?

It should be a simple task to create a page but it soon became tedious & time consuming.

Not in writing the content but getting the layout correct(which I messed up several times) I even managed to delete an entire page without trace.

Creating links in the menu bar is supposed to be really simple, didn’t realise how dumb I must be.

It’s not simply click & paste like some people had suggested. I could get links to some pages but not others & it took me an absolute age to work out the reasons why.

Comments on blogs, why could I leave a comment on another WP blog from my own but not if I was using a different platform?

Didn’t seem right and wasn’t sure why the change had been introduced

Creating banner ad’s has proved very difficult for me & not having any technical knowledge certainly didn’t help. I assumed it world be a simple task, just cut & paste to the area of the page you want it displayed.

Never thought that I would have to check the size of each image.

If you are prepared to persevere & work at creating your own blog I’m sure it will all soon fall in to place.

Don’t give in at the first hurdle
