One common misconception that most people have when looking to start an internet based business is that it is "easy." This lie is perpetuated by all of the "get rich quick" schemes that often times cause people to invest thousands of dollars in some type of money making program. More often than not the people who look for the next shiny object will never succeed online. These people are known as opportunity seekers, and why they may like to think of themselves as real entrepreneurs, they are not.
In this article I want to share with you the difference between a business opportunity seeker, and an entrepreneur. Maybe after reading this article you will understand that being a real entrepreneur is the only way that you can ever make real money online!
Entrepreneurs are a rare breed, because being an entrepreneur means that you are willing to work long hours, and make very demanding sacrifices in order to get your business up and running.
When I first started making money online, I was still in college, and I had two jobs, 18 credit hours of classes, and still had to make time to build my business. Some nights that meant that I only got 2 hours of sleep, but I knew that was necessary in order to achieve my goals.
Business opportunity seekers will never make this kind of commitment, and often times look to "piggy back" off of others success. It is easy to get sucked into a business opportunity, because the company selling you a certain opportunity makes it look as if there is no way that you can lose.
What is the old saying that I know you have heard over and over again? If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!
I was sucked in by the hype of business opportunities when I first started online, and as a result I lost thousands of dollars.
I want you to realize from this moment on that a shift in mindset is required to create a successful web based business. Being an internet entrepreneur means that you have to build relationships with others, sell quality products, and have a fresh flow of targeted leads that are looking for the products or services that you are offering.
Sounds a little more difficult than many business opportunity companies would like you to think doesn't it?
If you do not make a commitment to building a successful online business, eliminating distractions, and doing what is legally necessary to succeed then you are setting yourself up for massive failure.
