It's a frightening statistic, but only about 5% of people trying to make money online actually do so.

I know I tried for a long time and part of the problem for me was a lack of time. I had nearly a two hour commute to work and again traveling home. This left me little time in the evening to make progress and I was often too tired anyway.

In spite of this I kept working at it.

My first real attempt to make money online was back in 2008. I set up an affiliate system based on information I got from an ebook I had bought. This resulted in a Main page, Squeeze page and Autoresponder sequence with 26 pre set emails to be sent at seven day intervals. These emails provided information, links to helpful videos and a few promotions for learning guitar products.

You can see my first site here:

The link at the bottom of the page takes you to the squeeze page.

This was my first website and I did the graphics myself. I know, it shows doesn't it! I think the squeeze page was based on a template that was popular at the time.

I had a painfully small amount of traffic that I generated with article marketing, but I did get some sales over time and eventually my first cheque from Clickbank arrived. What a day that was!!

This at least proved that the method worked and I just needed to get better at generating traffic.

So wherever you are in your internet marketing journey, never give up. Determination and the right information will finally see you succeed.
