Back in 2008, my 2nd year working in the Internet Marketing Industry, I always read folks advice newbies to ping their blog posts and then bookmark them.

Back then, it was enough to give your blog posts a nice position on the search engine. However, things have changed. Today simply pinging your blogs and bookmarking it won't bring your blog posts to the front of the search results.

Most people think that these steps are already worthless. Well, they should think again..

I've been doing SEO since 2008 and though I still have so much to learn, I've also been observing some things that help with SEO.

One sure way that will help you get top positions in the search engine aside from quality contents are backlinks.

However, as you may have observed already, backlinks need to be indexed and found by the search engines for it to give you link juice.

Here is where "PING" comes in. Though pinging won't push your blogs or pages higher, it can report your backlinks to search engine bots and have those backlinks indexed, then you'll receive the link juice from those backlinks.

So, while it is true that pinging won't have much effect on the page itself, it has a big effect on your backlinks and so you should ping your backlinks instead.

What service will you use?

There are free services out there but one of the most well known is ping-o-matic.com.

However, if you are creating massive backlinks regularly, then I recommend that you put up your own backlink pinging tool. Let's say for example you are creating around 500 backlinks per day, manually pinging those one by one using ping-o-matic will be impractical.

You can also use massive pinging services online, however, these services are also used by thousands of IM folks doing the same (that is pinging thousands of backlinks).

You could get in trouble if one of these folks raise Google's red flag.

Though if you put up your own massive pinging tool, you're in control. You can rest assured that you will not be raising any red flags anytime soon.

To put up your own Massive Backlink Pinger, I recommend you try Backlink Sniper. It's a tool containing a massive backlink pinger plus to more cool tools packaged with it.

I talked to it's creator about two days ago. He allowed me to test drive the software and I liked it!

Was able to ping links in only a few minutes as well as use the Domain Indexer tool.

You may get the tool at : Backlink Sniper

It's a nice addition to your IM Arsenal.
