Please allow me to tell my story:

Last May I noticed I felt odd and just no energy at all. I live in Texas and it gets above 100 degrees often in the summer. I noticed the heat was bearing down on me more than usual. I could not walk more than 1 block without having to sit down and rest. I am 57 years old. I was always very active and busy.

I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING THIS WAS COMING !

I was fine or seemed so a month prior to May. I just kept getting more tired and simply could not go out in the heat for over 5 minutes and certainly could not do any work in the heat.I went to the Doctor they ran some tests and to my surprise.

I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH STAGE 3 CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE (COPD) STAGE 3 Chronic Bronchitis

I was totally taken by surprise and always thought this type illness had warning signs. Well it does not my friend. Not every time…

I am retired and love life I live on the lake I moved to the lake in 2000 so I have had 9 years of what I always wanted in retirement. I have two wonderful sons who are grown now and a best friend for a wife.

I make these points to get the word out to my smokers that things can change so quickly. I have rearranged my whole line of thinking now ( the disease is terminal and I know my time is very limited now)

Instead of planning on what (we) will be doing in the future I have now had to take a different line of thinking. I spend all my time now getting things together both financially and mentally for my family so I know they will be OK when the disease runs it’s course.
