I used to spend hours trying to find my USP, or unique selling position.

These days, it takes me about 15 minutes.

See, most marketers simply think about what they've DONE... as in "past tense" when trying to find their USP.

Or, they think about what they're currently doing.

But why not CREATE a NEW USP based on what you WANT to do in the FUTURE.

In other words, what COULD you offer to the market that's different.

No one said you have to stick with what you've been doing all along. You can actually create and invent your USP at any time.

Don't limit yourself to what you've done and what you feel is unique about you/your products up until now.

Instead, think of what you WANT to do and how you WANT to be unique.

In other words, CREATE a new USP.

Think of what you want to be known for and try to think of the single biggest way you could stand out from your competition.

Think of ways you COULD be better/different/faster/cheaper/unique... and create a new USP based on that.

Too many times in the past, I'd wrack my brain trying to think of what I've done in the past, with my biz, that would make a good unique selling point.

These days, I think of what the market wants... and then I offer that.

So... your USP can be something you're not even doing right now... but COULD do better than anyone else.

That's where I had been limiting myself in the past... thinking of only those
things I had done already... not thinking my USP could be something I could create based on what I wanted to do in the future!

Your USP is what makes you unique... why someone should choose you over the competition.

So if you can't think of something you've done or are doing... create it... and perhaps it will take your marketing/business to a new level.
