Why email is more important than your sales letter

So, people buy from those they know, like, and trust, right?
Right.
And it's a fact that around 98% of the people who visit your sales letter will leave without buying, right?
Right.
Well, over the last few years of writing copy and email for my clients and myself... I'm starting to realize that good email copy is SO much more important than a sales letter.
Look, if people buy from those they know, like, and trust... what has a better chance of establishing that rapport and trust... and creating a relationship where LIKING can take place.
A one-shot sales letter or emails that your prospects can read, day after day.
Yep, exactly.
You CAN create rapport, credibility, trust, etc... with a sales letter... but again, the person has to read far enough to FEEL it.
IF they land at the headline or even intro and don't go any further... no sale.
But with email, if done right, you have many, many attempts to build a relationship.
You have many, many chances to get them to know, like, and trust you.
That's why email, to me, is so much more important than a sales letter.
And remember the part about 98% of all site visitors leaving without buying?
Well, once again, email can get them back to that site, time and time again, so you can keep trying to make the sale.
Bottom line, good email copy is more important than a sales letter.... and can actually even make sales without a good sales letter.
If your emails do their job of building trust, empathy, rapport... and establish a bond and relationship... that's gonna go much further than a stand alone sales letter that's got one shot.
Not to mention, even if that prospect is one of the 98% who leave your site without buying... with email... you can continue the relationship so that maybe they WILL buy some day.
These days, my sales letters are shorter and shorter... while I spend more time on my email follow up... and sales have literally doubled in almost all of my niches.
