Hi Everyone,

Time for a little blog post where I want to ask a question and feel free to chime in and give me your feedback as I would love to hear it.

My question is this, what is the BIG OBSESSION of sellers online selling information products in DOLLARS, don't get me wrong I don't have anything against the currency but why is everyone mindlessly selling in dollars?

Earlier this week I was speaking to someone I know, they are in Wales and they were telling me about their pricing for their information products websites and he was telling me about a couple of refunds he had received for $9.95 products with resell rights.

I asked John why he was pricing in DOLLARS and he said well EVERYONE ELSE IS, so I am doing the same. Now Johns currency is POUNDS STERLING, yet hes selling in DOLLARS and alienating people from the UK firstly and secondly making less money as a result.

I know numerous people who sell information products, many buy resell rights websites that tend to all originate from the USA and have dollars on the site and people just price their items based on that.

WSOS ARE ALWAYS PRICED IN DOLLARS

On the forum WSOs are always priced in DOLLARS and I can see why with a large number of people being from the USA and liking DOLLARS, but for the people purchasing outside the USA, they will gladly pay in any currency if they know the conversion.

I used W+ to sell WSOs and if it had contained a £ currency symbol all my WSOs would of been in that currency, but it only offered me the option of $ to sell information products in. Being the forums most used processor for years, that is another reason I think all WSOs posted were sold in $.

I PREFER TO BREAK FROM THE HEARD

Now myself having tested different prices and whether people will buy in £ as well as $, I believe people will buy a £5 product just as easy as a $5 product, a £10 product as a $10 product as they seem like low prices despite the conversion.

When I have included the details of what the £ conversion is in $ I find that helps people make that decision to buy. When I have left out the conversion and sell a £10 product, that is approx $16.90 and people spend it as easy as they would of $10.

I hope you find this information useful and if you are from the UK use it to make more cash as you can by simply pricing in POUNDS and you can also save on conversion fees with PayPal.

PEOPLE USING CLICKBANK PAY IN THEIR OWN CURRENCY

Another example of people being willing to pay in other currencies for information products and WSOs, is when a seller uses CLICKBANK on their sales page, when people arrive at the checkout they are given the option of choosing which currency to pay in and people don't all dive on DOLLARS unless its their currency, so think about it.

Just because everyone is doing something doesn't make it the right thing to be doing or the only option. INNOVATE DON'T JUST IMITATE.

ALL MY WSOS AND INFORMATION PRODUCTS ARE SOLD IN POUNDS NOT DOLLARS

My WSOs differ in a BIG way as they are the only WSOs I've seen being sold in £ instead of $. I personally choose to sell my WSOs in my own currency, having tested both formats of pricing and in all honesty they do not affect peoples decision to place an order.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and stay tuned to more blog updates.

All the best,

Sim
