If you've ever browsed through the 'gig' offers on Fiverr.com looking for people to to outsource your small webmaster tasks to, you'll know that it can be pretty addictive and time seems to slip away!

I've been over at Fiverr a lot this week looking to outsource a few tasks such as logo design, backlinking and video producing.

But I noticed how easy it is to get distracted and go from one person's gig to the next and it's hard to stop.

So if you're using Fiverr or want to use it, here are 4 tips for using it more productively and not waste your time.

1. Decide what you want before you start browsing.

If you don't, you will start clicking an jumping from one idea to the next. I'll admit, there are a lot of tempting offers on Fiverr. But if you know what you want before you go on, you can search and find exactly that.

2. Use the "Popularity" and "Rating" filters in your searches.

Right at the top of the search results, you'll see two little links "Popularity" and "Rating". Using these filters can give you the best results at the top so you don't have to waste time searching through pages of results.

3. Don't mull over which guy to hire. It's only $5!

I know I am a person who wants to get the best value for money and wants to get the job done right. But looking through and comparing all the guys and girls on there is going to take too much time. If it's what you're looking for, just hire the guy. If you get a crap result, you've only wasted $5. Just find someone else.

4. Ask the Seller questions.

Sometimes the gig descriptions are lacking a little and leave a few questions in your mind. In that case, use the "Contact Seller" feature before you buy to clear up your questions. Maybe you have something very close but a little different in mind to what they offer and want to see if they can do it. Just ask them. It doesn't cost you anything to contact the seller.
