Do this For New Year (BENEFICIAL)
Posted 31st December 2008 at 11:57 PM by Suthan M
I bet many of us here is resting for its New Year ..
But rather than just go on our merry making, i want to give you a good suggestion that will hopefully be beneficial for the next 364 days..
(If you may listen..)
...
take the time today to learn just ONE thing that you always wanted to do, but you always postponed doing..
For an example, i am a multimedia student, but somehow i managed to skip the whole design classes when i was in college to go and (*ahem) mingle with the nice ladies in the canteen... and regretting ever since.:p
Even though i do know how to operate Photoshop (tiny bit) but i never had the courage to actually do an ecover for my own books..
TODAY I AM ACTUALLY LEARNING HOW TO DO IT.. in fact i am in the middle of a break now after learning how to use those darn action scripts..
This doesnt mean that i will stop using my designers all together, but today marks the end of me go crying to them for the smallest thing in the world for my graphics..
What you are going to change?
Suthan M
p/s- i attached a namecard that i played around with.. Its a template that i worked on, but hey, i did the rest, if i can toot my own horns
EDIT: Check here for the thread
pp/s- If you did do something, come here and share with us.

the learners shall inherit the earth, while the ones who know everything already will be perfectly equiped for a world that no longer exists!Posted 21st February 2009 at 06:25 PM by WealthBluePrint - Congrats on being proactive. It is a great reminder to me.

design classes not necessary
If you have a natural artistic talent, you don't need design classes. Although they will help, you don't need them. When going for work it all boils down the work you have in your portfolio.
Nonetheless, that is a great lesson in being proactive and not being a procrastinator.
