Article Marketing- Not A Get Rich Quick Method
Posted 10th April 2010 at 09:52 AM by Sylvia Meier
Contrary to what is spouted all over the internet, article marketing is NOT a get rich quick formula. Article marketing, like any form of marketing, takes time, takes consistant effort and persistance to make a difference to your bottom line. And quite frankly, article marketing is not for everyone.
It can be quite the profitable marketing method, as there are no outgoing costs, that is nothing more than your time. And it is a stream of marketing that continues to send traffic for work already done. Where paid methods dry up when you stop paying, article marketing can continue to bring you traffic and sales for many years to come if done correctly.
Why do so many fail at it?
Well like most internet based businesses, article marketing does have those who succeed and the large majority that fail. Most failure tends to come from those who expect immediate results. Yes, you can get an initial surge of traffic from the directory itself, but the majority of traffic will come from the article rising in the search engine, as well as other people publishing your articles to their sites. Just a few copies published on high traffic sites can make a big difference to your bottom line.
Another reason many fail is they don't do it for long enough. They will write an article a day or maybe even ten and go it doesn't work. Not realizing that some articles will have better clickthroughs than others, some articles will stick in the search engines longer, others will have widespread publication to other sites, but there will always be those crappy articles. The ones where you get 1% click through, or you get no veiws because the title sucked or any other number of reasons.
Article marketing doesn't have to be difficult, once you know what you are doing it can be quite simple and profitable. But it does take getting to that point. One article or ten isn't enough to know if article marketing will work for you. Keep at it and you may be pleasently surprised at the results.
One way to succeed at article marketing is to copy what works for those who rely on it for their income. You can learn some great article marketing tips at MasterArticleMarketing.com
