I Have a Warrior Blog?

Another surprise while surfing about the Warrior Forum...I have a blog, already set up, just needing my ramblings to make it official. Well, a blog has always been on my long to-do list, and I have started others that now lay dormant for one reason or another, so why not start another one?

What do you write about transcription? I'm not sure what people would find interesting about my day-to-day activities. But one thing that really bothers me, gets my goat in the worst way, is when folks use "your" when they should be using "you're"!

Now we as transcriptionists have the power to make it right. The speaker is not spelling it out to us, so it's our job to make sure we use the correct word.

"Your" is possessive, as in something belongs to you: your pencil, your car, your blog.

"You're" is simply a shortened form of "you are," or a "contraction." The apostrophe is taking the place of the "a" in "are," as in: you're going somewhere, you're eating breakfast, you're a nice person.

As a professional transcriptionist, it's part of my job to know these things, and my transcripts all reflect the knowledge and education my team and I have worked hard to absorb!
