The Bible says “You have not because you ask not.” If your blogging and marketing questions are going unanswered, well…
So let’s get to it, shall we?
Question:
When you first start out, it is all so confusing. There is a big learning curve to internet marketing. Whether you are a blogger who is building a “Tribe” or you are building an internet business, many of the same rules apply. You need to build a list of readers and grow an audience or a list of prospects and customers. In either case you need a way to gather names and email addresses to keep in contact with them and a reason for your audience/prospects to sign up.
I recommend aweber.com as your email management system. This is where you manage the names and email addresses you gather automatically. You also create your opt in forms there as well. They have a fantastic tutorial section to walk you through the entire process. You can even call them or chat live to ask questions. Their customer service is top notch.
You really need an opt in form in the sidebar of your site before you worry about how to set up an opt in page. You want people to sign up when they come to your site, or the chances are slim they will ever come back, even if they like you, they’ll forget how to find you.
To add an opt in form on your page, sign up for Aweber (they have a trial for $1) read and watch the tutorials, create a simple opt in form then copy and paste the code they supply into a widget in the sidebar of your site.
Once you’re done, you’ll see that it wasn’t difficult, just something new that you hadn’t done before.
