My blog title is so cheesy -- its been overcooked by many for so long, that the juices of this steak have literally been sucked out and everything has gone dry. That`s about as new or as fresh as my title gets.

I am totally aware of the hundreds and thousands of pages online saying "Content Rocks" or "Content Rules", but however, as vagueness hits the fan, everyone starts finding their own meaning and paths to realize how content actually rules, why is it important?, where should you distribute content and to whom should it be focused on?

So the simple two-worded cliche, slowly gets a little complex and then this further unfolds to more confusion and then several other items gets factored in, bringing more confusion and before you know it, SEO turns into a backlinking game and into a mechanical process.

Content and Links - this is basically what everyone in the SEO community talks about, sometimes it actually sounds like its nothing but a commodity, you know like.. it needs to be there so might as well keep doing it.

This is exactly the kind of links and content that I do not want to do, like commodities measured using a weight balancer. If Google had stayed on this path, I would have been out of SEO for good 2 years ago.

Actually the Panda and Penguin updates made me want to work even more as an SEO. I finally figured out that they had already seen what I and countless others were seeing was happening. There was total disregard for the users, the internet being the information superhighway was being hijacked by word plunderers and link syndication networks.

Thank God!. Although the manipulation has not been brought a full halt, its at a tolerable level for me.

So why is content king? Why should content be your number #1 SEO priority?

So far, in reading a few books (Yes! I still read physical books, I love them since they give me such a focused reading than web-pages) - what I notice in common from each and every book is that its the "Value of the reading" that is actually king and the content is just there to communicate that idea to a focused group of people.

Even if you are writing a manual or a how-to, your approach and the value the readers get from your content is what is really king. Put quite simply - if you are not doing something remarkable or remark-worthy for someones, you may not be supplying the content that is on demand.

Here are two more blogs I have written on the topic to give you some closure.
