Come On And Get Happy With More Sales!

Lets talk about you for a moment. Have you ever thought about why you do things in life?
Why you prefer one type of food over another, a certain brand of clothing, or doing this over that?
I've been putting together a sales program for some time now and I want to share 3 critical findings from my study of people and why they act the way they do.
It is critical to understand human nature so that you can appeal to it during the sales process.
My first finding was this:
Going back to the food example. Why do you like one type of food over the other? Because it taste better right? Ok take it one step farther.
If you drank a glass of spoiled milk for instance my guess is that it would taste gross (feel free to try it and report back to me) and that you wouldn't be very HAPPY drinking it and with the results of drinking it.
From our first moments in life we seek happiness. Babies don’t cry when they are being held by their mother but once you put them down they do. We’re taught not to touch the stove because it would hurt us and take away our feeling of well being.
I remember as a child I lit a book of matches in my parents car backseat. The flame was so large I had to throw the matches out and lucky for me the entire car didn’t catch fire but my backside did from the beating my father gave me.
I had made him unhappy with my actions and he was reminding me through physical force how to act to make him happy.
So understand this – everyone in life is seeking happiness – happiness that comes from having paid all the bills and having money coming over.
Happiness from watching their favorite TV show instead of going to the gym.
You might be asking the following though – what about my friend, they always have issue going on with friends and family and a never ending supply of drama/trauma going on in their life? Why do they do that?
We’ll cover it in the next blog.
But for today remember that everyone is seeking happiness.
As you go through your day today look around and ask yourself why people do the things they do.
See if in your own life you can find out why you do certain things over another and how it relates to happiness.
