Let me start by discussing WHO should consider becoming an SMS Reseller.

The answer is NOT anyone. Becoming an SMS Reseller is not a get rich quick scheme. It is not a work from home mom program. A sucessful SMS Reseller is an individual or company that has at its core marketing skills and knowledge. The potential SMS Reseller should have a client base and other sources of income in the marketing vertical.

The potential SMS Reseller should be technically proficient especially in web and mobile technology. I can't tell you how many times we have had to teach our Resellers how to send an email, how to upload a file or how to login to a web platform like a webinar. These non technicals are trying to enter a world that is not of their understanding and most are doomed to fail in six months.

The best suited companies and individuals for becoming an SMS Reseller are:
  • Marketing Companies or Consultants
  • Advertising Agencies
  • Web Design Firms
  • Search Engine Optimization companies
  • MLM Companies
  • Merchant Service Providers
  • Software Companies
  • Web Developers
  • Media Companies
  • Publishers
  • Resellers of other technical marketing products

If you or your business do not fall in this list, don't be discouraged, it is only meant to give guidance as to those whom are best suited to succeed in mobile marketing sales. At the very least, you need to be able to convey technical instructions and methods without sounding technical. In other words you need to sell tech without talking tech because the end user advertisers that use SMS Alerts, Text to Win, Text to Vote, Mobile apps etc. need expert guidance to steer them down the path to mobile marketing success.

Now lets talk about the BIG PICTURE. How do you generate revenue as an SMS Reseller.

The most successful people I know in this industry are those who have existing clients that rely on them for marketing and advertising help. This client base can be educated as to the value of mobile marketing in the new age and how SMS can fit in their marketing schema. If you do not have an active client list, down line, fans, followers etc. it is going to be very difficult for you to sell SMS Marketing. The guy that just wants to go door to door preaching the gospel of SMS to restaurants, bars, salons and such are destined to have those doors slammed in their faces 9 times out of 10.
