Ive joined this forum as a social media with no prior knowledge of how to leverage social media for my business, but I know I need to access it.
Our website Property Investment with No Deposit Homes Gladstone is a new concept whereby we offer people the opportunity of buying a brand new Australian home without having to spend years saving a deposit. In essence though, this is out of the ordinary as all Australians know from prior experience that the only way to buy a home is to first save a deposit, and as such, our target market doesnt even realise that they are our market. Hence we believe we need to generate a viral campaign on social media forums (targetted and untargetted to generate diverse traffic and referral). We also recognise the best way to generate referral is to to offer free stuff, a prize of certain value to people referring us to our end target buyers, and of course a prize for the buyers themselves.
We need HELP making this happen as we are guessing along the way.....
So far we have decided on the following key aspects of the campaign:
a) Create facebook page
Offer a free thing for those who just Like us. (unknown prize at this stage). Also offer a $1,000 cash prize to someone who directly refers us to a person who actually buys from us, and the ultimate prize will be that one of our end buyers will actually receive $40,000 in cash and benefits (or we may share a prize across multiple buyers but we arent sure yet)
b) Generate Likes, both randomly and targetted to those we know may be target buyers or those we think may be good referrers of target buyers. The primary market for our houses are investors as our houses have very high investment returns relative to other australian housing investment options.
c) The targetted campaign may be in the form of Facebook advertising / pay per click.

My main question to this forum is in relation to the direct referral component of our campaign. Is there a way to track who is a direct referrer so that we know who to award our referrer prizes to?

David

It sounds like you don't even have a campaign. Social media is a great way to brand yourself locally, face book allows you to have a business page. from there you need to do a search on face book and find your local market.

There really is no way to measure your campaign this way unless some refers a person that orally or in writing tells the reefers name.

Your best bet is to hire a social media manager to handle the social media campaign. Then hire a copy writer and marketing consultant to write a sales letter or post cards that you mail out to potential buyers. This will be a measurable approach.

Thanks for the response wrcato2. Yes you are right, we dont have a campaign as such as we really dont know what we are doing. We do want to ensure that we are successful so we want to ensure that we have a solid plan, and then execute it in the most efficient way to get results. We are offering a very generous prize delibberately to kick start this new business model. Do you know a good campaign manager we could talk with?

No clue. But you can probably find one here at the warrior for hire or you can try elance dot com. I think it will be your best bet.
Then go to the copywriters forum and find a copy writer in your country. They are there just watch their sig files and get a consult from one of them.

Save your money. Don't do any contest until you know what you are doing and have a game plan. marketing is measurable, any thing else is just public relations.

Nike ads are public relation ads. If you continue to do what you are doing you will go broke and have no customers.

I tried finding someone on to assist first with strategy, and then with execution, but all I got in response was people offering to generate fast 'Likes' for a Facebook page that doesnt exist yet. Most dissappointing response. I have a freelancer working on my normal website SEO as we speak but the social media campaign was out of his depth (by his own assessment), and he actually referred me to this forum

Here is a link to the warrior forum social media page. Copy and past your blog post into the discussion forum. Use the same title as the title for the forum post. there are many there that can help you find a social media manager and even give you some strategies to work with.

The only social media manager that I am acquainted with would probably charge you 2K a month to operate your campaign.

Thanks a lot for your feedback. Yes $2k a month hurts but I may come back to you anyway if this is what I need to get things off to a good and correct start. Im keen to do it once and do it right as I can imagine there is as much to lose by doing it wrong, as there is to gain by doing it right....

I'll try to get some referrals for you. But try the social forum first.
