YUCH!!!
I am so so so dumb!
I keep reading TEST TEST TEST.
I think I understand TEST TEST TEST.
I think I know about A/B testing.
Do you think I do it?
NO! NO! NO! NO!
The reason I am not making money is simple. I am doing everything and nothing at the same time.
Because I am running so many ads with so many keywords - I have no significant data to work with. All I know is what generates impressions.
Ok - what a waste of time and money.
Now - I have restructured everything.
I am only running a small number of keywords - 25.
I am only running 3 ads. Similar - only varying one thing.
Guess what - I will quickly be able to select the best ad and move onto the next ad.
I went back and applied all my new techniques to all the data I have collected. Nothing is significant except the number of impressions.
I can now adjust keywords as well - following my pricing approach. That works.
DUMB DUMB DUMB.
Why did I make this mistake - which is huge?
Hoping for something to work immediately.
That can't happen - because I just don't have enough experience to get it right the first time. Once I have several successful projects - I will probably get it right sooner rather than later.
I HATE THAT I AM SO SO DUMB.

- Hi Zale,
It takes great courage to admit that you're dumb on the internet, but I don't think you're that dumb, you just managed to work out what mistakes you've done and will make sure not to do them again.
The Internet marketing game is a one big learing curve and if you can learn from your mistakes, making sure not to repeat them again and pass your acquired gainful knowledge onto others then you are far more mature then most of us out there.
So well done for sharing your dumbness with us ;-)
regards

My goal is to help others. I teach at the YMCA - and one of the largest frustrations my students always complain about is the learning curve.
We don't always recognize the Learning Curve. So I figured if I documented my journey it would help others.
I know that I will be successful.
It will be good to watch my progression.
ZalePosted 9th March 2009 at 11:54 AM by Zale - Zale, even though I can relate, I still think it's probably a good idea to not beat yourself up. Rather, I think you should congratulate yourself for having "got it" because some haven't yet, and some might never... so you have something for which to be grateful.
When you get a moment, perhaps you can tell us how you're going about testing and tracking. There's all kinds of solutions abound and, as I'd mentioned before, some still haven't the foggiest.
Best wishes,
