I think it would be interesting to see the Earnings Per Visitor (EPV) for different types of sites. I'll get things started. I have a 6-month old site that is a searchable product catalog for a line of affordable automatic watches. It averages $0.04 per unique visitor and makes its money from Amazon affiliate links. December was its best month with an average of $0.05 per visitor and a total of 11k visitors. A few stats for the site: - 40% bounce rate - 40% conversion rate (click on outbound link) - 20% engaged but not converted - 60% new users - 40% returning - 50% search traffic (mostly from Google - highest conversion rate) - 25% direct traffic (lowest conversion rate - many people use the site as a reference) - 25% referral traffic (mostly from niche-related forums - this is how I initially promoted the site) - 7.0 pageviews per user I hope people will share their stats for other niches and other income sources. I always find these types of threads to be very motivating and a great source of new ideas. |
