Horrible bounce and conversion rate

Hey everyone.

First website hear. I'm getting about 50 page views a day. I'm working on trying to build backlinks, but quite frankly I'm not sure how to do that really well for a review site.

Anyways is there anything glaringly bad on my website? I know I'm not going to get rich from this, but I feel like I should have a better conversation rate than a pathetic .3%. What the heck is going on? Thanks.

First Website

Although there are numerous adjustments that can be done. The first thing I recommend doing is getting a list of all your competitors and see exactly what they're doing. If there's not a lot of reviews, then see if they're connected on Facebook and check the engagement.

I'm also not a big fan of the ads. See here and you'll see why: Screenshot by Lightshot

Instead of trying to earn barely anything on Adsense, You might be better off using those ad spaces for yourself. Getting them to join your email list where you can update them on promotions (maybe get your hands on some coupon codes), keep them posted with new reviews etc.

But definitely take a look at your competition and go from there.

Agreed!

Monetize this website so that anyone that comes to this page is gently directed at your squeeze page. Which leads me to say that you NEED a squeeze page.

1. Create a freebie gift, like a report, videos, etc.
2. Create a squeeze page to advertise your freebie. Get them to sign up if they want the freebie.
3. Create a banner on your website. When clicked it should lead to your SP.
4. Create a popup on your website (ideally popping up after 40 to 60 seconds), which is an optin box.
5. Create a notification bar on the top that leads to SP as well.
6. Invite people to sign up on your mailing list in your posts.

What we're doing here is to turn your website in to a giant lead sucking machine. Don't forget to sign up at GetResponse to monetize these leads and start emailing them!

Hope that helps!

There is something wrong with the promotion part. Also check the loading and response time. It could be a major reason for a big bounce rate.

What I see immediately:
-no logo
-bad formatting
-small images
-long lines of text (shorter lines are easier to read)
-boring headings and sub heading

These are easy to improve and you will see a decrease in bounce.

First and for most you are writing product reviews... not every product is 4 stars out of 5. Imagine if you came to a site to read about a protein shake and it stated it tasted bad, it was gritty in texture, and it was everything you could do to get through the bottle to not waste the money. But HEY.. it has a good amount of protein. All of the sudden you are going to have a better than good amount of creditability.

What is the reader of the above article going to do? They are going to find the product you do rate well.

Your Author box: "Hello! I'm just a guy who loves fitness! So I have this to share what I know and learn with other people." About as exciting as the reviews that you have.

It really may not be in your life.. and that's fine.. but to some and more importantly to YOUR readers.. this is serious stuff. and kicking out text like it reads on the bottle is NOT what they want.

Scour the web and find the good the bad and the ugly on each of these products write a REVIEW of the product and not spit out some danged canned everything is sunflowers and rainbows crap. This is where you will find success.

when you start doing things like this you have the ability to have a top 5 list ( more expensive products ) And because you appear to being straight forward with your reviews, people will start to listen to and buy your recommendation.

Another TRICK.. pay attention if there FREE SHIPPING on the product. That is a HUGE selling point in the world of product sales. something you can USE to your advantage!

You guys are missing the main point - the reviews themselves.

Since all reviews are rated about the same (I've picked three, all were 4.2 or 4.3) it is hard to trust your reviews and buy from you. Yes, CRO should be done sooner or later but now your main problem is that your articles sound too promotional. They do not sound like an actual trusted review which can help me take a decision.

Best regards,
Razvan
