Free bribe video vs. report Hi, I've a question: Does a free bribe in format of videos convert better (higher optin rate) than a free report? Or do you think it doesn't matter because the design of the optin page is really the key? Thanks for your input! |
Re: Free bribe video vs. report I would guess if you are having to bribe people then you are doing something wrong. There is a big difference between reciprocity marketing, permission marketing and bribe marketing (although a lot of the 'big boys' haven't worked this out yet). Regardless its all about your market. |
Re: Free bribe video vs. report Stay away from using the term "bribe" because it's not a bribe but rather something of value that will motivate people to give you their email in exchange for. As for the video vs. written content. The best answer I can give you is: it depends on your target audience, so put it to a test! Some people prefer video over something written like a report/whitepaper and vice versa for others. Video is great for creating an emotional connection and can be very powerful, especially if you're doing B2C. Where professionals in a B2B setting may appreciate a well thought out whitepaper more. Again, it depends. Either test it or do both. |
Re: Free bribe video vs. report Thanks guys for your answers. I didn't know that bribe was a bad word. I took a course where they used that term. Sorry if I offended someone. Of course I know that you provide value in exchange of the email address, otherwise you shoot yourself in your own foot. Ok I will put it to the test and see what my audience likes more. :) |
Re: Free bribe video vs. report Jeff walker says video will convert worse on average. I use a report. |

Re: Free bribe video vs. report I've given BOTH and it works better than either one. Some people are attracted to videos and others hate them because the want to speed read and you can't speed watch. So offer the report and the video version and you are covered. -Ray Edwards |
