Is that your domain? This is not really a good landing page to be honest! It's very messy 1.) Domain is not really good - It does not tell what industry or what kind of services you offer. 2.) Headline should be benefit driven and should stand out from all the mess around it. Make your headline Bigger 3.) There are a lot of distractions on your page. If you are trying to get them into your email list, probably you can convert the twitter messages into images so people wont click on it and move away from your page. 4.) You are not giving a reason why they should enter their email address to the optin box 5.) Make the optin box and button bigger next to headline. I hope it helps. |

Hi Marked09, Thank you for your instant feedback! Let me answer your comments. Yes, this is my domain. Who elses? ![]() 1) Until now I was pretty sure the domain was a good idea. I even got some feedback that it was smart and catchy. What kind of a domain name would work here better in your opinion? Could you give an example? 2) Doesn't the headline stand out here? White on red with colossal "STOP"? Really? 3) There is no email list here. The goal for the landing page is to make people sign up for a free account on the website. I was thinking about posting the Tweets as images - but do you really think people would click them? What for? 4) Isn't the reason obvious? Email address is a login, this rather common... 5) I will make the button larger, thanks. Thank you again, Marked09! |

This one is a bit interesting. Part of web design for a designer is "thinking outside the box" Ironically outside the box in this case is well... within a grid of boxes. I have in the past played with this type of format using the FRANK theme Some Random Dude — Frank, an Open Source WordPress Theme Really fast nice and clean, and a bit out of the ordinary. As goofy as this may sound.. I think a core issue here is layout. Im not about to say that the grids suck and use conventional design. I just think there needs to be an understanding in how people read websites, and how yours is read. ( I know this is going to sound like I am belittling you.. but please just give me a moment. ) When you look at your average site, there is a logo on top somewhere. There is a headline, there is a by-line and then there is in the case of say a landing page a video or list of bullet points and an opt-in box and then some testimonials. These are all items you have on your site... I would say that its the order that's a bit unsettling to some. Before I get into how your site is currently laid out I need to make a quick statement. I looked at your site a number of times today. It was the 3rd time that I totally understood what it is this site is offering. - The information is right there DUH.. I get it.. but as I will show you below its just not in the right place. So the example above... we can picture that in our head it reads kinda from top to bottom. It follows conditioned design formatting. Your site is different there are 3 rows and 8 columns. So lets make this easy and number each of your boxes from top left to bottom right. So across the top row we have box 1 2 and 3. Row number 2 we then have boxes 4 5 and 6. And then the numbering continues.. I am sure you get the idea. So your site:
The red and white are THAT focal point.. and then nothing.. then you look at the rest of the patterns described in the article above and what happens? The eye rolls right down the left side and scrolls to the bottom. So what needs to be altered here is a bit of the order, and the focal points. I would suggest switching your logo to red on a white background. Place it into position 2 along the top row, and switch the no more to White on Red to match the stop panel. This would in essence carry the visual impact across the entire width of your page.
Be specific here with what is to be expected. Is this page on your server? are you giving the code to place on their server? BE SPECIFIC ...send the link to your client, ....you get instant details of their systems information... ( you get the idea. )
So now we have all of the stuff this page reports. I would spread this out over boxes 7 8 and 9. The thing I would do tho is add a band of red across the whole top of each box. If you look at your current box 9 "From Twitter" imagine a red box where that space for the text is - to hopefully give you a visual. In that red band set a headline across all three boxes "Customer ( #7 ) Information ( #8 ) Displayed ( #9 )" in white text, with across all 3 the bullet points as you have them now in boxes 7 and 8 The 4th row down I would do the same with a white band red text in the middle box ( #11 ) "Testimonials From Twitter" and then the remainder of the page have the twitter boxes. Without changing the layout, and with the use of color you are guiding the eye across all of the material on the page. In a way you will be defining the information you are giving and giving separation at the same time ) It will balance out and I think having the opt-in in red will hi-lite the fact that it is there. Just a thought.... Hope that Helps! |

OK, I did something else that fixes the reading order problem in my opinion. (also updated some texts) Version 2 The only drawback of this change is that the opt-in box has been pushed down and can be displayed below the fold for many users. What do you think? |

I looked at version 2 and just went back to ver 1 to see differences. Personally I'm always in favour of a simple clean design that has a purpose. Reading Version 2 I could follow along through the boxes and although the design is a bit too low-tech looking for me it is better than many complicated attempts to get an outcome. I'd say..."Who is your target market?" If it is businesses who are already getting the same data via their usual use of a variety of Google tools as part of their everyday operations I'd ask "What is going to compel them to even look at what you offer?" I'd kind of say "who cares" what browser someone is using If you care you already have the data and if you don't care you've already got someone else who already deals with that stuff and the others just don't matter. It may be more important in developing markets but if you re in a business where most of your clients are running modern browsers and you can get the data from elsewhere what is the point? If there aren't good compelling arguments as to "WHY" you would even consider the solution you offer then what result would you expect from the page? |

Oziboomer, thank you for your feedback. I'm afraid you misunderstood what the service is about, which is - of course - my fault. I thouhgt I managed to explain it shortly, but it seems I didn't. Or you're not in my target group. ![]() Imagine you're a Web Developer or a Customer Service Specialist working at SaaS company. Your customer submits a problem with a website. You don't see the problem and need to know browser details (make, version, settings, etc.) of this particular user. Usually you'd have to ask them about the browser and often explain how to find the information you need. With yourbrowser.is you can provide the user with a custom URL and receive a full report on user's browsing environment the moment the user opens the URL. See? Not very easy to explain in one or two sentences - especially to non-specialists (which are, in fact, outside the target group). |
