Personal Mentoring - Website critique needed!
Share on:

Hello folks,

I am running a personal mentoring course in the forex niche where I try to give my visitors the feeling that I am a real person they can talk to, not some online video course where you never actually get in touch with the person from the videos.

That is why I am offering a free personal coaching at first in order to get in contact and see if it fits their needs. So this is not the typical "sales letter" approach where I try to sell as much as possible since I want to differentiate a bit from this approach.

Now I'd love to hear from you what you are thinking about the whole page:

Personal Mentoring

and there also is a "lighter" version (not that happy with the video anymore)

Lighter Version (for SoloAds, Referrals, ...)

Maybe show questions people have asked, somewhere in there? Or that you only allow a certain number of people, since you have limited amount of time available. Testimonials from actual students, too. If you've got to get a few free students to get them, do it.

I'm talking out of my arse here, I don't really know the market, but you've already spelled out that there is a human element to the training.

The only thought that came to mind was thinking I would ask stupid questions and get short answers or that you were going to try to sell me once you got me live.

I pestered the hell out of my mentor, most of the time having to ask a question 4 or 5 times before I articulated it in a way that made sense to me and gave him the chance to give me an answer I understood.

I always figured he would get frustrated that I asked the same thing 5 different ways, but it always clicked the last way and I went back to work.

If that makes sense?

Just a personal thing for me....

If your going to show me how to make money, then I expect you to have money. Showing an ikea wardrobe in the background does not inspire confidence that you have money, and in turn, you can help me make money.

Re-shoot the video in sexy surroundings looking well dressed (but not sleazy, arrogant, or fake). Somewhere with scenic surroundings and a nice suit..... maybe a nice coffee shop with picturesque background.

Just my opinion and good luck

Sam

Your website looks alrightish in terms of design, can be improved.

But as for the personal aspect, it does not feel personal at all if that's your goal. I would say you could take a look at Tim Sykes. He teaches Penny Stock trading and he's very successful at his trading education business.. Just google for him, he's based in the States.

Thanks for all the great critique - most people tend to say "that looks good", end of story.

Special thanks to Sean DeSilva who really gave me good and "harsh" input, exactly what is needed.

I am going to re-do some of the videos, that will take some time (I am going to Asia in August, I'll postpone it until I can do them there) and will work on my copy as well as the video approach to give it a more personalized feeling.

@Alvinchua91 Mind telling me what you would prefer in terms of the "personalization"? Thanks for the valuable input!

Sure. I presume you're the actual person who's the expert in Forex?

1) You might want to show your profile / credentials / accreditation (where applicable).

2) Move the part where you show where you were featured in before to the top of the page - that lends a lot of credibility to your website, and you want visitors to see it the moment they enter your website so that they immediately trust your website as much as possible.

3) The background for the words at the header looks odd.. I would remove that whole chunk.

4) The part directly below the sliders look quite confusing on first glance, there is no one particular section/spot that my eyes are drawn towards. I believe that video there is not necessary as you have another one directly below it.

5) You might want to change your call to action button to either yellow (which has been proven to convert most visitors) or dark blue. Blue has been associated with security in terms of color psychology, which is why many banks like blue themes.

Hopefully the above web design tips would help you out!
