Please Critique My Healthy And Fitness Website
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I started a fitness website almost 3 years ago and it's currently receiving about 1000 visitors a day (22,281 hits from may-june), roughly 800 of those visitors are unique and comes from organic search results.

The website offers articles as well as product reviews that I recommend to my readers.

I recently started investing more time I using different strategies to get more people subscribing to my list. (eg, popup optins, landing pages) and it has helped a little.

I get around 4-5 new subscribers a day out of the 1000 visitors that come to my website (see google anlyatics screenshot for traffic stats).

In the beginning my writing was quite poor but as time went by to got better at writing articles for my site.

I would like you guys to review my website and give me your honest opinion on why you think I might not be getting many subscribers and very few sales, comments and more visitors?

The link to my fitness site is in the signature below.

Thanks.

Anybody want to share their input on my site? What I should change, what looks good, what would help me get more sales and subscribers?

Thanks

Thanks for the article Ewenmack. Will definitely apply these techniques the next time I run facebook ads. Very informative.

Also, i am gettting a lot of targetted visitors to my website and have an optin-form on my website and pop-up optins forms on most of my blog posts throughout the rest of my website but i'm not getting many subscribers. I don't understand why. Here is my website

Is it the title and description that is turning people off, or what is it that is preventing them from subscribing? Just can't get my head around it. If I know what would improve my conversions i would obviously make changes.

Thanks

I was sending you over there not for the content,
but for the structure of the site, pages, links and ads.

Hi Justin,

You will need to improve your content layout and headlines.

Here are links where you can get some ideas in terms of content layouts:

Survival Life - Outdoor Survival Gear & Skills, SHTF Prepping - by Ryan Deiss, the guy who owns the above website link(Ewen gave you).

Blog - Born Fitness

Nerd Fitness: Helping You Lose Weight, Get Stronger, Live Better.

Davey Wavey Fitness - Workouts For Men, Exercise Tips & Fitness Advice

You also have to think about who you are targeting.

Have a look at your lead magnet headline which is weak You have to change the way you have the content layout on your opt in pop up because it's not very appearing.

The above link has a strong headline

Lets start with a quick question... of the opt-ins you have, which one is converting the best. I see 2 different timed page pop ups. and exit intent, the top on the main page and the side bar. they are all a bit different, just curious which message as they stand is converting better. - once I get an answer there I would have a suggestion or 2 that may work a bit better.

Statistically speaking ( but not always the case in every environment ) at the end of a post, you want your opt-in on the top, then the author box and then the related post panel. ( a note about the related post panel... I would question the out linking here, if you are trying to convert, then why are you out linking with content? )

If you look at the example site / page that Ewen left in his first post ( Betty Rocker ). read the article. start paying close attention to what happens towards the end. Now read any of yours. Do you see the difference? The obvious difference is there is comments on her site. and the question is why? you quickly ask for shares.. she opens up and request dialog.

in terms of social impact. let me rephrase that, in terms INSTANT social impact what would carry more weight right then and there. 20 comments or 4 page likes? Betty is developing a "Community" watch her videos.. the word is used over and over. She is a smart cookie. you... you want people to share. By looking at the differences in the 2 pages one is talking at the people and the other is talking to them... sorry but you are taking at them!

You blew the page off for 3 years.. and said whoa.. I could make money here. Betty on the other hand. its her passion to see her followers succeed. If you want to win it, you at the very least have to fake be in it.
