Ok, basically I purchased a run of the mill health/diet website, that I plan on sprucing up via article content/various product offers...ect I'm currently trying to promote a clickbank diet program offer.... I'm aware that I should make list building a priority..... Here is the homepage....clickbank offer on the right(3 week diet) So, I believe the next step would probably be squeeze page installation... Should I prioritize email capture on the squeeze page or to send that person to my clickbank offer directly? I don't think I'm going to get alot of clicks to the clickbank offer in the current state of the homepage(offer on the mid right side of homepage) Please advise...Thanks In Advance... |

In regards to your current side bar ad for the 3 week diet... if you look at: Understanding the Z-Layout in Web Design - Tuts+ Web Design Article and what we are interested in is the "Z" pattern. This does not just apply to pages, but can apply to specific page elements such as your ad. Applying the principles of the Z pattern if you look at your ad, you will see that a person looking at it will scroll from left to right across the headline "Trouble Spot Training" ( this needs some testing maybe "Loose weight in 3 weeks" or the like ) from that far right position the eye will now carry at an angle to the far left bottom corner. ( tape measure ) From there the eye then scrolls across the bottom again left to right to the blank space where it stops. Because the image is full screen your upper right call to action gets passed right up. from the headline the next eye pull is the headline in the graphic "The Three Week Diet" to the bottom left. the best placement for your call to action is then the lower right corner. ( where the eye stops ) The color of the button is not overly helping you much. Its by no means the color itself its the fact that with in the graphic element there is red in the headline, the button does not contrast from its surroundings. Basically it just blends in. Dropping that button to the lower right and increasing the contrast of the button itself will help with conversion. A strategy that I use on page layouts such as yours ( wordpress ) is right below the "Subscribe" section I will place a graphic that offers a give away for signing up to my list. Because you are selling the three week diet it would make sense to offer something that would be a bit of a precursor to the product itself. I as of late have been offering an infographic as the bait. In your case something like "4 things that you didn't know about water and dieting" Cold water is better at boosting your metabolism than warm water might be #1 as an example. Get the e-mail address and then give them instant gratification.. the infographic. There are some issues with the website as I see it. The images in your ad are of a guy,nd the rest of the site appears to be female oriented? might hurt the ad. Another thing that catches my eye s the color combination. Nothing at all wrong with the blue.. the brown however regardless of demographic ( male / female ) is in general a loser. If you don't believe me try looking at: https://blog.kissmetrics.com/gender-and-color/ |

Generally speaking it is much easier to get an email than sell something immediately. Keep in mind that I know nothing about the product, but a good place to start would probably be to set up a landing page focused on lead gen, then have a good follow-up campaign. The placement of the product is not good on this page. It needs to be more in the eyepath. I'd move it away from the right column. Hopefully this helps! |

The site is too plain and there is no incentive for me to give you my email address. Offer a stronger incentive and you will succeed. |

Savage B- I was totally unaware of the 'Z' and 'F' patterns.....I've read the article you linked, great to know about it....! I use Weebly a bit as well, their basic free landing page templaes definitely have the 'Z' pattern..... Those pages get a very high number of clicks that go onto the sales page of whatever product I'm promoting.....Nice to know why.... The button is from the banner selection at the affiliate resource site.....I can experiment with a nice contrasting colored background. Obviously I'm a novice here and just learning wordpress, I will most likely totally change the theme at some point...... Earlier today I order another landing/squeeze page from a contractor on Fiverr....I plan to offer free excerpts from the ebook in return for a potential customer's email address..... I may keep this as a stand alone landing page(would just need to add content)....or perhaps a small pop up.... |

If you think about watching those real estate shows. what sells houses? defined spaces. Houses with well thought out and defined furnishings sell a house faster than a bank slate where people have to imagine what the space is. Again its not the space that sells.. its the "Contents" that define the space that sells. That Z and F article you read, down towards the bottom starts talking about focal points and the like. They are using art as an example but what if the focal point is your ad to sign up for your newsletter? The biggest part of what is considered in CRO as UX ( user experience ) is getting the user to do what we as marketers want them to. Color plays a part in this. Shapes and sizing of things play a part. location plays a part. These are the concepts that will serve you well. Thinking a theme will make things better is non sense ( even tho the idea is shared on the WF often ) | |

Man, build your list... One thing that BIG marketers have is a LIST... If you ask a BIG marketer: "if you lose everything and you can keep only one thing, what would it be?" 95% of marketers would agree that they would keep the LIST. So, yes, build your list...that's your asset. |
