55,000+ unique visitors a month ( organic traffic ), but struggling to monetize

Hi all,

First time posting...

I have a niche website that's currently getting about 1900 unique visitors per day ( more than 55,000 per month ) - organic ( free ! ) traffic, and that number has almost doubled every month consistently for the last year.

I bet to some of you successful Warriors out there, that might not sound so great, but to me that's amazing !

Unfortunately, I haven't been very successful at monetizing it... I'm currently selling an eBook on said website and my conversion rate is about 0.05%

Are there any good copywriters or "conversion specialists" that anyone can recommend ?

Well lets start with this. have you tried selling anything else? or are you very interested in just increasing the sales of your e-book product?

I've sold many things online over the years... I'm not new to internet marketing... started with affiliate marketing and ClickBank about 10 years ago, though never achieved the kind of success I'm looking for - not sure why that matters.

You do need to say more... your not selling anything to the 55,000 visitors you have every month. there are a ton of factors at play here. I personally have a WP Forum that is real hard to monetize because it is on the wrong side of the buyer curve. and we are talking 30,000+ uniques a month. I know the pain.. but I don't have enough detail by any stretch of the imagination to give you a hand here. a link to the site maybe.. let me see what you are working with, and maybe I can help... "Traffic" is not what you should be aiming to get, it's visitors with credit card in hand. I used to have a website that made me hundreds of dollars monthly and I got 4 or 5 visitors a day. Not dozens or hundreds or thousands. Monetizing visitors is very easy if you know their intent beforehand.

The way to monetise those visitors is to study the search terms very carefully, see what it is they are looking for. If the search terms are all over the place it will be very difficult but if there are people using the same type of long tail keyword variations it should be easy to come up with something.

The traffic I'm getting is EXTREMELY targeted.
I'd say more than 95% of my website's visitors are using more or less the same keyword variations to find my site.

But are the few keywords buying keywords or information seeking keywords. If the traffic is targeted, then it sounds like the product doesn't meet your buyers needs. Have you tried another product?

Information seeking keywords. The product is an eBook containing the information. People are buying... just very few of them. ( about 1 in 2000 people or so )

what have you tried already? sounds like you are going for the direct sale? lots of ways you could play with it. A/B split testing some different elements to increase clickthroughs would be an option, changing marketing from direct sale to email capture would be another.

I can't give you really useful tips if I can't see the "salespage" and maybe the ebook/ebook cover (is it attractive?), the price of the ebook (maybe it is too high for the value the people get?) Do you have a "preview" sample page of the ebook?(make the people curious and show them the value of the ebook) I don't even know the niche you are in. Maybe your sales copy text is not good enough.
Are there enough visitors on the salespage? what bouncerate do you have?
There are lot of other questions...
