Your design should direct the visitor toward your call to action. If there's too much competing for attention, conversion rates will drop, even if it makes the site more attractive in an artistic sense. That doesn't mean you shouldn't include anything that's there for aesthetics -- but you should make sure that everything you include has a purpose. Force each element to justify it's existence. |

A well-designed site will interact the people to visit easily and attractively. If your site is good looking then, it will make the user to view more pages. But a bad site will push the visitor out of site. |

I agree that your logo is very important. It's good to do some brainstorming and figure out what your unique message is and what are the feelings you would like to get across to your potential customers? I have used Microsoft Publisher to make free logos for myself, but I am an artist, so for me it's easy and fun. (Here's one example, on my site, dreamingtribe.com.) If you don't want to do it yourself, maybe an artistic friend can help, or find someone on fiverr.com. I hope all the best for you, it sounds like a good idea. Madeleine Do you like to talk? In terms of website design, here's a good resource. Anyway, there are so many factors that influence conversion. I would recommend following as many good conversion and copywriting blogs as you can (e.g. ConversionXL, Unbounce, Copyhackers, Kissmetrics, VWO, Crazy Egg and many more), and keep testing. A convenient way to do this is to use Feedly to save the related blogs to your daily reading list. Also, consider taking full screenshots of interesting landing pages for your own study and record, to improve on or to model after. |

I launched three websites in 2013, and using those three sites I have built a national insurance brokerage. We do not buy leads. I will give you three pieces of advice: 1.) Something is better than nothing 2) If no one can find it, then it won't sell anything 3) Be different. Consumers are smarter than they were in the nineties. Demonstrate professionalism, while letting your prospect know that you are a real company, and person, and not jsut a lead aggregator. As i say on my websites, "If an agent or agencies name is not on the page, they're going to sell your information. Only shop on sites that have a brand." |

Yes, getting higher conversion rates is absolutely crucial. Higher the conversion leads to the high sales volume. Here are some of the ways through which using design you can improve your conversion rates. --> Put the right and unique content --> Go for a responsive design (one design-multiple screens) --> Select simple designs, clear and flat design --> Do not use too many photos --> Do not use too many social feeds |

It all depends on what you are trying to achieve. Website design is critical to your conversion rate. Colours, designs, images, call to action banners etc. It all depends on what you are trying to achieve. Your design and content on your site are vital. You want to provide your audience with information that is relevant, and your site should be easy to navigate through so that they can find what they want. These days niche review sites are much plainer than they used to be. Remember... Content is king... everyone says that but its true. Allow the design to compliment what you are focused on. It should all flow together. Try to leave out the bells and whistles, because they will only bog your site down, and cause visitors to become frustrated. Sometimes, less is more, and this is true when designing a website. Use your space, and allow your audience to be pleasantly stimulated by your design. I use a tool such as visual website optimizer always to find out how my sites are converting etc. Hope this helps. Have a blissful day. Warmly, Colleen |

Hi nehashri, that's a very nice question. Most people think that a nice looking website will help to increase your conversion rate. That might be true, but that's not all. The fact is, web design is only some of the factor to increase your offer value. For example: Web design that use persuasion will help you to gather leads, lead them into your sales funnel, make them to buy your product or service, then repeat. What are the most important factor for conversion rate? The other factor that i think is more crucial, you need to have a good sales funnel. Think about this, huge chunk of prospects who come to your site are not ready to purchase anything from you. Good web design alone is not enough. So how do you increase conversion rate? You need to convert these prospects who's not ready to buy, and that's where you need a sales funnel. You can give what they want, based on buyers journey. What is a buyers journey? That's a long topic, but you can google it if you want to know more. Why a sales funnel? If you've been in online marketing for sometimes you've probably heard about sales funnel. But what make sales funnel so important? A sales funnel is your buyers journey. From a lead that only knows his own problem, seek for a solution, compare solutions, then at the end they will choose you. With sales funnel you will increase your conversion. Why? Because you're not just convert someone who already aware about your company and product, but you will convert someone who knows nothing about you. Ain't that cool? How do you learn more about this topic? You can google sales funnel. But for me, i learn from these guys. You can learn more about sales funnel by get into their list, google Bryan Harris, Derek Halpern, Joanna Wiebe, Neil Patel & Conversion Rate Experts. After all these talks, what is the function for web design anyway? If you've read what i said, this might be the question. What is your conclusion? Was your conclusion "web design is not that important after all"? That's not true at all. Good web design will increase your offer value, make them focus on the action you want them to take, get your lead magnet, grow your list, gain trust, position yourself in front of your customers, make them to trust you and purchase from you, ultimately grow your sales. Anyway you still need a good web design, but just to let you know "the words are more important ( it needs to be true of course )". You can go ahead learn more about the words in copywriting section of this forum. With a combination of "powerful true words" and "web design", you're good to go. Hope that helps you |

its colors, usability, contrast, layouts, images and graphics, etc. have a strong impact on the number of visitors you are converting into buyers? so you have to constantly test to figure out what your audience prefers.
