What do you think about my site and how to monetize it?!

Hi guys,

I am working on a site about movie trailers, reviews, news etc (Themoviescout.com The best place for any passionate moviegears to see the best films!)

the design is almost done and i am debugging the last issues and i hope to release my new news page this week. I like to know what you think about the website and ofcourse i would love to know what you are missing.

i would also like to know how i can monetize a website like this, i added some 'download' and 'play now' buttons that will redirect to an affiliate offer already.
i also implented a buy now button that will redirect to an amazon offer.

What would be the best way to drive traffic to this website? would that be just SEO and social media marketing?

I hope to get some positive feedback about the site and some great ideas for my to-do list!

Regards!

Hi webseohub,
I would forget about trying to get Search Engine traffic.

Social networks, forums, paid traffic etc.

An explanation of what the site is about would be good?

Make it very clear what you are offering, more than just pretty imagery.

If you want to get users on a newsletter then you might add a popup that contains your entry form, rather than at the bottom of the page.

You should look at the following.

clickmagick is a tracking solution that includes an enomous list of tools, including 5 different types of exit popups you can add. You can even add countdown timers to them.

ClickMagick - Track And Optimize All Your Marketing, All In One Place

Thrive Themes offers landing pages that include, among other things, a two step opt in system meaning the user will not see the form entry until they click the download button for example.

You can link a standalone landing page like this from any image or hyperlink from any page on your site.

You could setup the exit popup to direct to your landing page if you want to.

These two programs are premium products, and very powerful.

This will add to your building a list, but you will need to have offers or a service to provide to be paid for.

cheers, Mal.

Nice looking site!

That being said, here are some suggestions.....my $.01.

1.) When landing on your website, it's difficult to tell exactly what the site is about. A typical visitor may wonder if the website is for buying movies, reading reviews, downloading movies, etc. You should make the purpose of the site clear "above the fold."

In other words, without having to scroll down, there should be a headline or brief description of what your website is about. Such as what you have in the footer:

"The best place for any passionate moviegears to see the best films!"

Then, visitors who touchdown on the site instantly have an idea whether they want to continue browsing, or visit another website that has what they were looking for. So while your bounce rate may go up, engaged visitors will stick around and check out the content for periods of time.

2. You could monetize this site in a number of ways. One of those ways would include signing up to a CPA or affiliate program that pays you whenever someone purchases a ticket to a movie in their local area. You could also promote complementary offers such as HD TVs, surround sound systems, popcorn popping machines, etc, and earn a commission on each sale or lead.

Take a look at industry-related sites such as IMDB.com and see how they're monetizing. You can get some good ideas, or at least find inspiration.

Since your site is related to movies and videos so suggest you to monetize it with video advertising.

SEO will be the best and trusted source of traffic. It also help in improving trust among visitors.
