Landing Page - Should I Add a Video

Hi All,

We are a sign shop, specialising in Vehicle Wraps.

This is our current Landing Page

This is a time lapse video we recently put up on our Facebook Page.
I was thinking of creating another landing page to test, that contained our video on it, and I just had a couple of questions:

1. Would this type of video be suitable to use?
2. Would you recommend making any changes to its length, or anything else?
3. Would we be best having a short landing page, and making the video the main focus, or a longer landing page, with the video at the end?
4. Does anyone have any examples of a landing page template containing video, which they think could work well for us.

Cheers

Jake

Re: Landing Page - Should I Add a Video

Definitely add a video. Just not sure that is the one you should add unless changing the color of a car is your biggest selling point.

Your landing page makes more of a case for turning your vehicle into a promotional tool. The video should tell the story of how you can improve a persons business or image with your service. It should convey the benefit and result of your USP.

I would create a video showing you converting a vehicle into rolling signage with time-lapse, then cut to someone seeing it on the street, then doing business with that company as a result of the exposure. (in 40 seconds or less)

Your testimonials could also be more benefit driven i.e. "We have seen an uptick in sales ever since you turned our vehicles into rolling billboards"

Good luck.

Mark

PS - I did like the video and would certainly use it on social media, but not for the landing page.

So...

...is your current landing page making sales? What baseline do you have for performance?

Don't just change things willy-nilly.

First test I would make is moving the opt-in quote box above the fold.

In science experiments, we change just one variable at at time. That way we can see what worked rather than jumbling things all together and not being sure what happened.

Then later split test a landing page with video.

When something is working, ie. making sales, send 3/4 of your traffic to that. Send 1/4 to the new arrangement. That way, you're continuing to do most of what works already and not hamstringing your sales.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your responses.

Twisted Pixel, you are right about needing a video of a commercial wrap and highlighting the benefits. I will work on this. Also, I will see if I can make the testimonials more benefit based.

Jason, thanks for the advice. You are right about changing one thing at a time. There were two lines of thought with the form. At the top will obviously get more views. Having it at the bottom will have less views, however if they make it down there, hopefully they are more motivated to fill out the form.

I will also try and change one thing at a time as you said. So what I will do, is leave the form where it is, but change the slider image at the bottom into a video.

Thanks again, and if anyone else has any thoughts, please let me know.

Cheers

Jake

hey jake,

Yes add a video, people nowadays react and engage more with videos. They will feel more of a connection to your product and can see first hand how it is done.

People are skeptical online and the more you can make them feel comfortable about a service or product the better it will be.

Good landing page BTW!!

In a lot of cases I wouldn't suggest a video on an opt in page....But, this case is a little different. Maybe try it out.

I am with Jason on adding the form above the fold. Especially if you put a video up top..... You could have the form off to the side right side of the video.

.S. Like the colors on your page

You should definetly add a video.

The Landing Page Design looks too boring to me, White Background and Grey Font Color. Try some other color combination, maybe something thats more "eye-catching".

I would add video to the landing page. Shorten it, at less than a minute. You got your message across in 50 seconds.

If your wrap lasts as long as paint I would target those people too.

Yes we should use Video. Video takes a leading role in Content Marketing plan.

Video has below mentioned benefits:

Stronger Consumer Attention
Higher Engagement
Higher Retention Rates
Stronger Emotional Connections
Increased Customer Conversions

We simply can’t ignore video any longer. Give it its fair share in your content marketing plan.

I agree with others that you should add the video. I would also add live chat to your website. I did it on mine and it increased conversion a lot on my website.
