ClickBank + Bing question
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hey hey hey guys! Hope You are doing great! So I just started testing ClickBank + Bing ads few days ago and yesterday I ran into this problem well not a problem but an obstacle so I wanted to ask what does that mean and what should I do about it? So basically I was testing one product (weight loss niche) everything seemed cool had lot of impressions, CTR 1% and tested with 30$ and had 120clicks however 0 conversions. First I wanted to test this product so I did direct linking, no landing pages. So I wanted to ask 0 conversions means that I need a landing page or it just means that it has weak sales copy and I should go with another product? All tips and advices will be appreciated this was my first try and I want to get good at this! Thank You!

Having 120 clicks and no conversions doesn't necessarily mean the product is weak. It's a lot harder to make a sale because you're sending people directly to the offer. You're probably going to lose a lot more money testing out different things (products, ad copy, keywords, bids etc) until you find a campaign for direct linking that's profitable.

Why not drive that traffic towards building a list, and then promoting those products to your list?

Thank You for Your answer! One question that also bothers me a little bit what do I do with that list if I don't have a blog or website. I mean I'm not the best writer actually I'm a very bad writer and I don't think that I want to create a website so what do I do with that list I think I can't send them offers to diffrent products all the time? How does this part works? Thank You!

If you have a list, you should send your subscribers useful information about the niche and also recommend related products to them.

Some examples of what you can send your list, could be a freebie such as an ebook or short report, or write a follow-up email to ask if they had any positive results from a previous product you promoted to them.

There is a 2 part podcast here which has some good information about list building.

It starts there and that is making sure your product converts. Something like clickbank you have gravity score but you can also check the affiliate resource or jv page and look for earnings per clicks. If you don't see it then don't be afraid to ask. That's step one is having a product that converts.

At this point you should be able to direct link if you want even though I strongly suggests you don't but now it comes down to your campaign. Are you using adgroups with relevant keywords? Are your keywords to broad?

Working to achieve higher results...

Split test the traffic with and without a landing page. I found out that when I preframe prospects they get warmed up and convert better.

OK, a couple things I'll point out here:

- Direct linking to affiliate products when doing paid traffic is an almost guaranteed way to lose money, so yes, you'll want to link to an opt-in page instead so you can build your email list.

- 120 clicks isn't anywhere close to the kind of traffic you need to make judgement calls about the quality of the traffic or the offer if you're looking at sales. And yes, this holds true even if you're building a list.

Regards,
Daniel

Okay guys thank You very much for Your responses I'll try to make conclusions from Your advices. Now again the reason why I tested with 30$ was that from this affiliate offer my commision was 30$ that the reason I chose 30$ to test with. Now again would be very nice of You guys if You could let me know if bing ads + landing page is enough to make money? Because I have alot of thoughts in my head like should I make a website or not because like I mentioned Im far from a good writer...

If you mean Bing ads + landing page which has no email opt in form and sends people to the vendors sales page, then that is enough to make money, but it doesn't mean you will make money. It all depends on various factors, such as how good your ads are, how targeted your keywords are, the quality of your sales page, and how good the vendors sales page is, etc..

To put yourself in the best position to make money then building a landing page with an opt in form is the best option because you can pre-sell to your list over a series of emails instead of it just being a one time thing where the visitor either buys the product or doesn't.

Ok so what I'm planning to do tommorow is to start prepearing and Ebook as a freebie and also a landing page with Opt In form although it seems strange to me having a email list but not having a website But also I think no matter what you landing page is but I think that product sales page has to be good so doesn't that mean that it should convert with direct linking? Thank You guys so much!

Channel your traffic through a landing page rather than direct linking. It converts better and you have the leads that you can market later.

Being a clickbank product owner, I have seen affiliates with landing pages converting better.

send traffic to your list and after optin, redirect the visitor to your CB offer.

follow-ups do the difference before someone will buy the product

Yes, I have. It's difficult to get sales consistantly though because of 2 factors.

1. The CPC on Bing is high (often $0.50+ per click) even if you have a high quality score.
2. There is limited volume.

For #2, logically you'd think just bid on more keywords to get more traffic, but the problem is if the keywords are too generic they just don't convert. This would vary of course depending on the niche/product, but it's how it is in my experience.

Use email marketing and don't cheat yourself by direct linking. Build a mailing list and generate leads, then promote to these leads in follow up emails to them. And make sure your email content is good.

Zero conversions doesn't have to mean either of the things you mentioned. It could be one or the other, both, or something else completely. You find out by testing and tracking results. And, as others have said, 120 clicks is not really enough to have a statistically valid sample.

Most often, multiple contact points with a business (and it's products) are needed in order to make a sale, especially if you are just starting out with no trust in you from the prospect.

Sending traffic right to an offer is most often a waste of money if those who see the offer don't already know, like, and trust the business making the offer. I would recommend that you stop blindly tossing money at Bing until you have a solid plan in place which should include how you are going to test and track small campaigns in the future.

The best to you,

Steve

You are lucky to have a direct affiliate link approved in Bing!

It is still highly recommended that you make a landing page to collect your prospect's email address when they click on your ad so you can market to them later since most people don't buy on their first visit. Unless the product is really high converting that it can cover your PPC cost then you can just continue on what you are doing. However, that could very rare situation to happen.
