So my technology site has 12,000 daily visitors and I have sold ebooks, affiliate products and all manner of advertising but have only gotten to high 4 figures a month. I need to raise it to 5 figures a month and am looking for advice. It gets 22,000 daily page views and the visitors are looking for advice about the software that my blog covers. I has good backlinks and lots of good traffic - just hard to convert. Any ideas? |

May be the keywords the users are using to visit your site are not conversion ready. I mean may be not in the buyer phase? You may try adding buttons, changing colors to the top landing pages of your website [Check landing pages from Google analytics]. Also check the exit pages to know on which page they were last before leaving your site.

Are you getting opt ins (leads) at your site or just letting people come and go as they please? Also are you using pixels to tag people and then re market to? Let me know and I can give you a few ideas Shawn |

It is not necessary that your website has good backlinks and traffic must have good conversion rate because conversion depends upon many factors. For example you are selling products and number of user’s visits your website but not buying any product. Reason behind this may best price range, quality, designing, reviews and look of the product. Same is in the case of software users are visiting the website may be they like the content and information provided in the website but not purchasing software just because they don't seem it useful or worthy. For that you need to make the impressive and useful software features. Also provide some good offers or deals along with the software because customers like offers so this will help in attracting more users. Hopefully these tips will help in increasing the conversion rates! |

I'd say list building needs to be your focus. Start with a Lead Magnet, dangle it to your visitors in return for their email address. | |

1. Concentrate on building a direct response website. 2. Use affiliate marketing for enhancing income from your website. 3. Get your posts inter-linked so that the bounce rate can be taken care of. |

You are writing about software and tech... you are giving advice... that means the things you are writing about the readers have already purchased ( I am guessing ) I think it may be that you are on the wrong end of the buying cycle.. they have already purchased and you are simply a point of reference and support. A couple of things... look for a piece of software ( or pieces ) at the very least you could get some affiliate commission on.... write up reviews and tech support related articles and SELL the product. Do the same for the software you have written on. It could be that people are reading your blog in the pre purchase phase. Have you tried a "Donate" button? If the content you have is helpful and people find what they are looking for right away.. they may indeed be greatful and "Donate". A good indicator of this possibly working is looking at uniques vs return visitors. If the return visitor number is 25% or higher, then it may work. The other option is looking beyond the main scope of your site and targeting the visitors themselves, as in tech t-shirts or the like... or some other hard product that you can sell that would be of interest to the obviously targeted traffic you are getting. |
