Account Signup Page: Ongoing Optimization & Maintenance

I need help verifying an idea for a product for marketers who are responsible for account signup pages for online services.

I am a web application programmer and have built and maintained account signup pages for multiple companies. One issue I've faced is maintenance and ongoing changes. There is a lot of programmer work involved with tweaking the design, implementing new designs from design agencies, and keeping up with integrations with different analytics and notification services.

We've looked for a tool that would allow us to manage an account signup page more easily. I was hoping something like Unbounce could be used to build the signup page. The biz dev person could make most of the changes themselves. Unfortunately, one issue we always ran into with landing page builders is that there is no way to do two-way data verification. I could not find any way of doing verification to check if an account already exists. All the landing page builders I've looked into push data one-way to a DB, mailing list, or API, but don't look at the response.

I have two questions:

- are there any existing tools that can work as an account signup page (not a landing page builder that just pushes data to a DB or mailing list one-way)

- is there any demand for a tool that could be used for hosting account signup pages

I'm not sure exactly where you're going with this. To my mind, there are two types of signups.

1) email signups - process flow is handled by email list service (mailchimp etc)
or
2) app login pages. Integrated with the website or application. Example - xxx.xxx/wp-login for wordpress sites,

In the odd case that logging in doesn't do everything you need it to do, a simple hook into Zapier can do just about everything.

What's left? A very small market, I think, unless you haven't explained your idea in a way I can understand.

Apologies for not explaining the problem / idea very well. You're 100% on-point that there signup forms can be broadly divided into two categories.

Email signups (1) are something that is handled extremely well by the existing landing page builders. This is not the use case I am trying to describe.

I was looking for a service that could host the account creation / signup form (2) for a service that you can later log into. Every web service that you can log into has one.

The company I worked with made lots of tweaks to their account signup page. They ranged from simple field label changes, adding and removing integrations with things like Mixpanel, through full HTML redesigns.

We wanted to use something like Unbounce. The problem is, that an account signup form needs to check in the database to see if a user exists. If the user exists, it needs to redisplay the form with an appropriate message. This was lacking form all landing page builders.

Companies that run web services need to optimize their account creating forms. I am trying to see how much interest there would be for a service that would make that management easier for them. Think landing page builder, but specifically for account creation forms.
