Traffic but no sales
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hi all,

This is my first post here. My website fyver.io has about 4K views (Nov 12-Dec 12) but we only have 2 sales so far. This conversion rate seems way below average. We are also doing Google ads and Facebook ads. We have 5K likes on Facebook and a rapidly growing email list.

Could you take a look and make some recommendations on our conversion strategy?

Thanks

Which sections of the site might you recommend to focus A/B testing on?

Ok let's break this down.

I'm a new customer. I land on your website. I see a watch on the left see it's called FYVER WATCH.

It says "all the features you want with a price that you'll love" with a buy now button.

Lets go over the problems with the above scenario.

1. I just landed on your website and I have no idea what a FYVER watch is. It looks like a regular watch, but on the right you start talking about "all the features you want". What features? I never heard of you. Don't assume anything.

2. "With a price that you'll love" and a buy button below it. Why would I buy this watch now? I don't know anything about you or your watch. That's like walking up to a girl introducing yourself and asking her for a kiss. It's never going to happen.

As you scroll down you start listing features... but wait...

This isn't a normal watch? it's a smart watch? How is it smart watch, it looks like a normal watch. Am I missing something?

Instead of even attempting to answer any questions about where am I? What can I do here? and why should I do it? You begin spouting off features about your watch when I don't even know anything about you or your watch.

This type of website design suffers from what I call the apple syndrome. Your design looks nice, clean, and simple like an apple website. But there's a reason why apples websites do so well. PEOPLE KNOW WHO APPLE IS AND WHAT THEY DO.

Nobody knows who you are or what you do. You can't get away with a pretty website and very little content. ESPECIALLY if you're trying to introduce a new product to the market.

You need more help than just split testing sections. You need a copywriter.

I saw your website and I think it have some problem, first of all, the character so small and the call to action icon is tiny too. If I am your customer I will read and watch your product but I think I will click buy it on your website...

This is extremely accurate.

People are saying "splittests", while the overall concept and presentation of your site is not thought-out. You can splittest CTAs and colors for ages, but this won't get you anywhere. Don't focus on the small things when the big things are not in place at all.

RefuseToLose summed it up really good: nobody knows you, nobody knows your watch, nobody knows why to choose yours. There are many ways to solve that: make a nice video where you talk about the watch including the product itself of course. I know this is not that easy (I somehow assume you still dropship and the watch isn't really customized, is it?) but if you do a one-product store and claim that you have an exceptional product, you also have to advertise and present it in an exceptional way.

Plain pictures and statements "we are the best", "we have tons of apps", "we have good battery" are not the key here. People buy stories and perceived value, not artificial feature lists.

I personally feel you might benefit from something less "flashy". To sell a watch, you want to tell people all about why they should buy it. I don't wanna scroll... and scroll... and scroll to read more and more about this product.

Keep it simple. Put in quality pictures and maybe even a good video. Tell your guests, with simplicity and ease, why they want to buy this watch. Not just BUY NOW PURCHASE NOW PURCHASE NOW PURCHASE NOW.

Build a little bit of a relationship with your guest, and then you'll convert.

But that is just my own personal opinion. I am excited to see how it works out for you in the end, because we are all still learning. I think you will do well eventually.

Don't give up!

I think that there are two main reasons for not having any sales even if you have traffic:

1.) Its cold traffic
2.) Lack of values

Cold Traffic - is the subscribers you get for the first time. They don't trust you yet that is why they are reluctant to purchase what you are promoting

Lack Of Values - Okay lets say you are promoting an amazing product, but how is it going to make a change on the lives of the people who are about to purchase it? will it have an impact? will it be worthy of the money they pay? that is providing values is very important

Well intended design but misses the mark in many areas:

- The large fonts need to be fancier. "FYVER WATCH" and "Standalone Smartwatch, The Phone for Your Wrist" is wayyyy too boring looking.
- You should also list a price near the top. I was really turned off that you wouldn't show a price. You are not a premium product.
- Too much white space around the product. And then when I finally scroll into text, it's not like a totally amazing experience that you're bringing me. It felt like going from uncluttered nothing, to text nothing.
- Your key features are not impressive enough. Those should be secondary key features. The primary features should be things that really set you apart from others. "HUNTS DINOSAURS" is a great primary feature. "LONG BATTERY LIFE" is a secondary feature.
- Stop using every template design spot. It feels like you downloaded a fancy template and trying to use every section on it to give information. Take that off...those aren't important right now.
- Need way more social proof.
- More images of people and images of real people wearing it. You can have some realistic images as well as some professional images. We need to see what it looks like on the wrist. Do some lifestyle targeting.
- Last but not least...the image of your watch is really blurry. And looks like fake/CGI. This gives it a really cheap look. Please address this issue.

Very impressive website! The only thing I would suggest you to get is targeting more keywords. My perception, this watch is a little bit pricey but it should sell like hot cakes if you were to lower down the price. Though I do not know your costing but you may try to do some price slashing to test out your campaign. It might work magically.

There are reasons why you can try to lower down your price.

Let’s review, if your potential customers currently have a phone and a watch then what makes them buy your 2 in 1 watch. Is it your designs, technology, innovations or fashion?

On the other hand, if a potential customer did not have a watch with phone then how much do you think he wants to pay for this watch? After all, it is buyers’ decision to spend what they feel worth of buying.

When I went to your website, I saw a picture of watch, the name of the watch and a little bit of text. I sat there for a good minute before I realized that there was content further down (noticed the scrollbar). It looked like the only action that you could take was to click the Buy Now button.

What's your bounce rate?
